For those of you technology geeks like me who use WordPress and also Arne Brachhold's site map generator, he recently updated his plugin with some bug fixes and feature enhancements.
The most noted is it now notifies ask.com of updates to your WordPress powered site.
If you like living on the wild side, go grab the latest beta release.
I've already installed it and it's running without any problems.
Seems to use less server resources now too.

How does it work, exactly? The site isn't too clear on that. Does it autoupdate the sitemap when you create new posts?

Thanks for the notice. I've been hoping that plugin would be updated soon.

@hthth: The plugin creates an XML compliant site map that all the search engines love for indexing sites.
it notifies the search engines when you post, make changes to your site, including pages and even when new comments are added.
there is even an admin section so you can tell it to block certain posts, pages, etc... lots of cool features like that.
hope that helps.... bottom line, this is a really good plugin for wordpress and i personally wouldn't even post about it if i didn't use it myself or think it was good.

@cavemonkey: indeed, this is a nice plugin and i've also been waiting a while for an update, which is why when it came out, i posted a note because a lot of users of this plugin were thinking it was collecting dust :) but apparently things are still being developed for it... there is just a long while between releases.
