Hi my name is Michael, I am in 9rules and I don't use a Macintosh computer. I use Windows XP...all the time. I like Windows. I know that for the programmers in the audience, that there are significant productivity benefits for owning a mac but for the average nerd like me, Windows is fine by me.
So if you are just visiting the 9rules notes sections and feel like your not a part of the crowd, I don't own a mac either.

I was wondering if this was the elimination round.
I actually prefer it, I have a mac I had to get for school, but I prefer Windows, I use my PC most of the time.

I'm Edrei and I'm a Windows junkie.
Seriously it works for me and Macs have never appealed to me because of the fanaticism and the fact that Macs are no different than PC's. There isn't any edge that would make me want to convert.

I left my Mac behind some time ago. The PC does it better for me. But Microsoft isn't my favourite company.

Exactly - games. And I enjoy building my custom computers. I like when new technology comes out, I can play with it. I love the fact my computer is a clone to everyone else's.

The only time I had a computer with an OS different from Windows was when I was using DOS.
Should be getting Vista soon. Yay for MSDNAA.

I.
But I am dying to get my hands on a Mac. Does that make me a bad person?

Yes.

Nope@ Rich. I'm a Windows user and probably will be until someone forces me into Vista.
But Macs are sexy. And they get cool software. Like a lovely system wide address book. Just for being there. It makes me oh so jealous.

When I get the chance I've really got to rebuild my old desktop back home. Custom computer building is so much fun.

I use a Mac at home, but Windows XP at work. It's good to have to use both operating systems on a regular basis, especially since I'm still expected to troubleshoot familial PC crises.
(But I much prefer my Mac.)

I've been a Windows user since about 1989, version 2.0; have used every version, client and server, up to and including Vista on this PC. I don't have many problems if I have full control of the system. Sure, there's less handholding, some rough edges, but that's true of riding a horse, or driving a car with a stick shift.
Very little Macintosh experience or interest: outside the USA the cost of Apple hardware is a major disincentive. Sure, people say all this great stuff about it, but the smug superiority of Apple and their followers is a major turnoff - as if you can't be creative on any other system. The latest Apple ads portraying PC users as faceless grey-suited workers are just insulting to people who use PCs to do real work.
If I move away from Windows it will be further in to the Linux area, the Ubuntu family of distros are getting really good now. But Apple have done nothing to convince me to buy in to their little cult... 8)

I'm a Windows enthusiast
That's not to say I wouldn't switch to something else if it offered me the same and more.

I have no problem with my computer. I think the majority of people who click "You're a winner!" ads are the ones that do. Once you've had a computer you learn your mistakes come your second ;]

Windows is good, and if not for it most of us probably wouldn't be as "into" computers as we are. My wife uses Windows and loves it, I think it's good but I'm a die hard Linux user now. ;) Not to change the subject or anything.

very much so. although, i've read so many dual-boot blog posts that i'm considering the tri-boot: vista, xp, and linux.
if os x could be dual-booted, would any users get it?
