Both my computer and laptop seem to be nearing their end-of-life cycle so I'll be purchasing a new PC in the next two months, and if all goes well I'll get a new laptop in the middle of summer, I'm thinking of getting a Macbook.
Funny how Mac owners usually upgrade only for the extra performance and not because they fear their machine will die in the next few months.
I'm really hoping the iPhone makes its debut in Japan so I can pick one up. Other than that there really is nothing else that truly excites or inspires me.
A camcorder! I want really want one, but I can't make up my mind which to get. Instead, I just keep reading reviews and trying to narrow down the field.
iPhone would be nice, but I can't quite justify selling my soul to AT&T for yet another 2 years, especially since I can get lines for my wife and I with unlimited data, nights starting at 7pm and more than enough daytime minutes for $80 total, even after taxes and hidden fees.
But then, to have the ability to simply have everything connected -- my TV, my phone, my computer -- has been a dream of mine ever since I understood what a network was.
I've been wanting an appletv since before they were available. I'm waiting for the "scene" to catch up with them though. I'm happy with netflix right now, but when I can start easily watching anime fansubs on it... I'm sold.
An iPhone purchase is on the table. Simply because I know it'd increase my productivity (currently using a Palm + piece of crap phone combination); unsure if I'll end up waiting for 3G. That's about all my budget allows for fancy tech.
On the other hand, if my traffic continues to grow at the rate it has this year — maybe I'll get lucky and receive one of the head mounted displays shown at CES'08 as a gift in exchange for a review. Schwing.

I was under the impression that Japan already had superb 3G-super-phones, is that a news quip where something's been lost in translation? Could you tell me what the iPhone has over the phones in Japan to soothe my curiosity? (Gratuitous disclosure of personality: I've wanted to visit Tokyo for years.)

I hope to upgrade my iMac after I pay my tax bill. I like this G5, but I could do with a bit more screen, and the dual processors.

If they come out with a 3g iphone, I will buy it.
I've convinced myself I don't need a new desktop, but bought myself a 500 GB usb drive so I don't feel quite so cramped.

It's amazing how many people I ask this question to that respond with "Apple TV" in there somewhere... is it really THAT cool?

When the 3G iPhone comes out at Christmas I will be buying one. I'd buy one now but I figure if I waited this long what's a few more months right?
