Maybe 10? I have hardly any upper body strength, though it has improved since I have been riding.

I tried last saturday and made it up to 35 in the first set... my goal is 50 in a set.

I've just lost a lot of weight and I'm working on getting my count up

25 at present!

I could do 4, but that would be showing off, so I'll just stop at 3.

One. I had to take a moment to remember which exercise the push-up was.

i can do 63 :P

at judo we practise a lot for fun...

and sit-up's around 95 in one minute

At about 50 the pain starts, but I can make it to 70 or so assuming I'm well-rested and in a mood to put myself through pain. I just started working out again, though, so that might have something to do with it.

And yeah, I think I'm going to jump on the yoga bandwagon sooner rather than later as I'm in college and I can barely touch my toes.

At once: 50+ (ie I stop at 50 'cos it's a nice round number, I've never gone for more)

My stamina is dropping rapidly. I could only do it 39 times just now, compared to 45 to 55 before. The topic reminds me to exercise more often.

Unfortunately 15 is my limit.

Um--on a good day, maybe 1 or 2. It reminds me of gym class in high school. I hated gym class in high school :)

I'm gonna try right now..

39 without any strength excercise for the past six months. Not too bad! When I actually used to go to the gym and stuff, I could do around 100. I'm so light-weight though, so that gives me an advantage in all excercises that has to do with your own body weight.

When it comes to raw strength excercises however, I fail. I'm kind of a geek, I guess =p

Man, I haven't done a push-up in a very long time. So, I'd say I could maybe do fifteen, but doing (or trying to) do fifteen might be a stretch. I'll cut that number down. I'll say a good five, with lots of effort.

15 or 20!

But sit ups now that i rock at :D

I suck at pushups. I can do 10, maybe, if I'm feeling particularly strong that day. I'm kind feeble when it comes to upper body strength.

Last I tried I could do 10, but I didn't try to go pass that, the bet was I couldn't do 10.

They make us do 2-4 sets of 15 at hockey. Not sure how many I could max out at without all the gear...

update to my reply last January

50 i need it for bootcamp

I can now do 100 push ups!!!!!

Hehe, I can do 60 straight.

In a day, probably 100 max.

12. That's more than I thought I'd manage, so pretty pleased! :-)

With my nose touching the floor, or just in general? :)

sadly i can't handle more than ten. my roommate bought those "perfect pushup" things, im going to see if i can double my number by the end of next week.

I did 70 push-ups now and I just came back home from the weight room:D

About 5 :)

I've never been able to do more than 25. Even when I was doing them more often it seemed like at that point I'd just wear out.

Damn all you people who can manage more than 25.

Quick question: Is it better to do, for example, 1x30 or 3x10 per day?

I can do 25 pushups in a row. A lot of us on here can still start the 1 year pushup challenge, where on jan 1st you do one pushup, on jan 2nd you do 2 pushups etc. adding one pushup each day until dec 31st where you should be able to do 365 pushups. Since it's jan 19th already, we would have to start with 19 and add one pushup everyday.

30

Not nearly enough for my liking, but right now I'm hovering around 40-45

I managed to improve a little, from 39 to 42. Have to apply heat lotion now.
I really envy those who can push up more than 60.

Yoohoo. I could manage 50 rep just now. Hope to hit 60 in a week. This topic has really made me more hardworking to exercise.

Zero - does a hurt back count as an excuse?

Though I have to say, as I currently ONLY can move around by carrying the weight of my body on my arms, I have gained MUSCLES this week... and probably could do now a few.

I've never been able to do pushups, not even when I was in the swim club and swam 2x a week 1 kilometer. Somehow I've never managed to figure out how to do them correctly. Elbows to the side, to the back and tight along the body, under the shoulder or a bit further in front... no matter what, I have never had the knack doing them.

I do them in sets too with rests in between. If I really tried I *might* be able to do 50 in a row.

I finally hit 60 just now but realized that the time taken was 01:08. Have to work harder again. At least I can do a 50 many times a week, compared to only 20 before.

Here are the 9 rules to your push up counts.

1) PUSH
2) UP
3) PUSH
4) UP
5) PUSH
6) UP
7) PUSH
8) UP
9) PUSH

if you do more you will break the 9 rules. so be careful.

Um ... over 9000!!!!

or 30, whatever you prefer really.

Pushup's are extreme sport for me :)
For mee it's enough the 1.5 Km walking to work :)
