Pats D lost the game for them.

No doubt about that. I still wonder why there was only single coverage on Plaxico on the play that lead to the TD. The CB blew the coverage and there was nobody else there to assist with guarding the Giants' best receiver. I find that quite odd.

Pats D lost the game for them.

Totally agree here. I recall at least two dropped interceptions that they should have had, that could have changed the whole game.

Pats D lost the game for them. 3 plays on that final drive that should've never happened and if you are a fan of any other football team you have to be a little upset because it seems like any other of the 30 teams in the league could've stopped the Giants on that drive.

Well, the way I saw it, they were so close to the dream season and they blew it. They'll never forget this game. It'll be a haunting memory for the rest of their careers.

So, therefore, me = sorry for the Pats.

On the flip side, great win by the Giants.

I think the first quarter and fourth quarter were good to watch. I was a little bored in the second and third quarters though. That catch off the helmet was definitely the play of the game, and by a rookie.

The Patriots didn't seem like themselves most of the game. Their one drive to score towards the end was more like them, but they just didn't seem comfortable most of the game.

Oh well, congrats to the Giants though, and another Manning with another ring.

That was a great game. I never imagined the Super Bowl being so exciting as they are mostly one-sided ass-whoopings. This year was great to watch, especially the final 5 minutes of the game.

It is interesting to see how Eli has gone from virtually zero to definite hero. Most of the Giants losses this year could be attributed to his bad decision making. He somehow matured quite rapidly towards the end of the season and took that to the playoff, then the Super Bowl. Quite an interesting growth spurt he, and the Giants, had there at the end.

Congrats to the Giants. The definitely deserved to win!

Interesting. I remember thinking before the game, twhen the Giants came out onto the field, looking a lot more relaxed than the Pats, that one team came here with nothing to lose, and the other with everything to lose. Guess that made the difference.

What a fantastic game that was. So many lead changes, so many opportunities for the tide to be completely flipped for either team, and in the end Eli marches the Giants down the field and puts it in the endzone. When he ducked out of that near-sack on that final drive, then threw that desperation pass that was caught behind the receiver's helmet, I knew fate was on their side. Play of the game, play of the season right there for the Giants.

If you don't win the Superbowl the season get erased. Vikings went 15-1 a couple years ago and didn't make it to the Superbowl and the only reason people talked about them was because they set the single season points record and now the Pats have that...well you see where I am going.

Well when you're talking about replacing a record, ALL fans are irrational because they're losing status.

Well technically speaking, they've already one upped the fins perfect record as they already won more regular season games than they did.

Dolphins fan response: "Doesn't matter. Unless they win during the big game they're just another team. If they can't stand the pressure then the 72 Fins are STILL the best." (Actual response from a fan to whom I posited the same.)

Seriously, when it comes to the perfect season Dolphin fans are jerks.

If they lose the Superbowl I don't see it voiding their perfect season record as that record was REGULAR season only and they've already done that. The Superbowl win would clench a perfect TOTAL season.

The Pats have a great offensive line which gives Brady the time to throw. Last match-up the Giants defense put pressure on Brady and you could see him get flustered. So a couple good sacks early on and you never know. Eli has been playing extremely well lately so.....Go Giants!!!!

I definitely agree Gnorb. I'm pretty sick of hearing about the 72 Dolphins too. The only team I would have liked to see beat the Pats is the Packers to Farve can get another championship and retire finally. But since that's out the door, I'd like to see the Pats make history.

For some reason, it always feels good when your favorite team loses in the playoffs to one of the teams that eventually gets to the Super Bowl, as if the loss is then somehow justified.

As for this game... it's going to be awesome. But I'm pulling for the Pats, if for no other reason than, damn it, I'm sick of Dolphin fans saying "We're the only undefeated ones EVAR!" even after this crapstacular season. It's a nice slice of STFU pie for them. (Also, IMHO, 18-0 > 17-0, so even if the Pats lose, they're still better than the '72 Fins.)

The Giants are really stunning me lately. Everyone picked them to lose against the Cowboys and they ended up on top. Now little Eli has toppled the Packers and Brett Favre on the Packers' home turf, in the freezing cold, and he looked completely comfortable on the field.

I hope the Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
