So, which is your favorite? I use GoogleReader because of the convenience of being able to check up on my feeds from any computer anywhere.

I used to use thunderbird and really liked it.. but I use gmail for my mail, so google made more sense for me.. especially because I'm between 3 computers!

I've never heard of Vienna before. I think tomorrow I'll give it a download and try it out!

Netvibes. Everything's in there: todo lists, an overview of my email, little joke widgets, Youtube and technorati search.

Another Vienna junkie here - I tried GoogleReader and lasted fifteen minutes (I kid you not) before running back to the loving embrace of Vienna. I couldn't quite explain why I love it so, but it just does everything I want and need it to.

I never switched back to FeedReader, RSS in Thunderbird or GoogleReader after trying Netvibes.

Bloglines for me as well! And I'm not thinking of switching readers because of the long list of feeds I'm subscribed to! LOL.

It's not free, but I didn't pay that much for it either. I use NewsFire, which I got in MacHeist's $40 bundle.

I used to use Thunderbird, but I switched to Bloglines because I needed my feeds to be available online.

I probably use the worst reader around, Sage for Firefox. I've tried GoogleReader but I'm so into the simplicity of Sage, that I didn't want to break my routine! :D

Isn't it funny how people are quite attached to their chosen feedreader? It's like a really weird loyalty thing. Anywho, Google Reader for me. Simple, straightforward and it's online so I can view it wherever I happen to be.

I used Vienna for the Mac, until it decided to stop updating my feed subscriptions. I've been using Google's reader and can't say I'm freaking with joy over it — but it does the job.

Used to use Bloglines.
Then I saw the way of simplicity of GReader. I'd love a desktop client but I'm just on too many different machines and operating systems for that to be viable.

No, Ozone, you're not a freak (unless we both are!) I don't actually go to the sites, but I just use the live bookmarks bar in Firefox, which I'm sure means I'm woefully behind the times. I came into this note to find out what everyone else does! Maybe I'll get with the times...

I use Newsfire on my iMac, but Google Reader on my iBook. I wish I could sync Google Reader with a desktop application in some way.

I use google reader, but I also use Shrook. Shrook is a newsreader that is specifically designed for a mac, and it is free. It has a robust set of features.

I use Google Reader for two reasons. 1) It is a very good feed reader and does an excellent job presenting the feeds. 2) I can use it anywhere, and across multiple platforms. This allows me to read feeds on my Mac at home and then on my Windows box in the office.
My $0.02.

Back in the day I tried a bunch of different ones and nothing ever really seemed to make much sense to me.
Then Thunderbird came out and I was all over that. After a while, I built up a bunch of subscriptions and began to check them in multiple places and was tired of reading the same thing in multiple places, so I had to switch to a web-based reader.
I started my web-based RSS reader journey with Bloglines and stayed with it for a while. I really liked Bloglines, actually. Then, Google reader 1 came out and I wasn't too impressed with it to be honest. When they re-did a bunch of stuff a while ago, I made the switch and haven't looked back sense. Google reader is nice. :)

I use the one I made: feedmeplz.com. I like to just have the headlines and actually read the posts at the various sites. It needs some more work though.

I've been meaning to try bloglines and netvibes, after hearing all of your comments they sound like something I need to try again, or at least with my heart and conviction this time around.
I find RSS something of an enigma in its popularity. To my simple brain, the web has gone through a transformation from a textual and very limited design (old school in the house! lynx..), to being all about the glam on websites, to more about the content with RSS.

My vote: Google Reader
As soon as I discovered that I actually like reading informational blogs (I never used to read blogs because so many of them were just personal blogs) I started using Google Reader and was sold on it from the beginning. The cool thing about it is that, if your blog has a podcast embedded in it like mine does, Google Reader will provide a cool little Flash-based listening interface. Same interface, no matter what blog. Nice!

Google reader for me. It's the only one I've tried so far and I really don't see a reason to try anything else.
