Dan Grossman links up my favorite educational movie, "Powers Of Ten", which is a fantastic look at the universe and the scales of our own world. Definitely a must-see if you've never seen it before. Read more at Wikipedia since I'm obviously not a scientist or film historian.

An interesting footnote is that Charles and Ray Eames produced this movie, the same duo that designed one of the most famous lounge chairs around, found in modern homes and offices everywhere.

Personally, I've always been a huge fan of those 5 minute short films they show at the beginning of the school year in laboratory courses. The 80's retro feel (especially the hair!) is something very special. And very 'is this what I bought with tuition?'

Baraka. I show it to my AP Environmental students and every year they are mesmerized by the imagery.
