The new Parallels Desktop 4.0 will run 50 per cent faster than version 3.0 and it will have full support for DirectX 9 and OpenGL 2.0. Version 4.0 has the ability to handle 4-way SMP along with support for 16 NICs per virtual machine.

The new Parallels Desktop 4.0 will be available November 11 and retails for $79.99. It will support Mac OS X Server 10.5 Leopard, Snow Leopard, Windows Server 2008 and 2003.
