This made my yesterday better.

By TheBigN

Receiving this in the mail:

It hasn’t even been five months since I was elated about RightStuf licensing ARIA, so to me, this is quick. Can’t wait for The NATURAL boxset to come out in the future. RightStuf is awesome. :3

Something that could make any day better. :O

How are the art cards that supposedly come with the preorder?

Congratulations! I’d be jealous, but I know it would be months on my shelf before I watched any of it.

Are the picture dramas that have been floating around the usual places extras in this set, or did they come out with one of the later series?

zzeroparticle: They are postcards with shots of the characters from the anime. They aren’t anything breathtaking (like showing Neo Venezia in all of it’s glory in addition to everything else), but it’s nice to have.

dm: The picture drams that have been subbed? Those are all from The ORIGINATION. I haven’t been able to really take a look at the DVDs yet because of other priorities, but I’ll be checking them out soon, and will be sure to update with it. And speaking of updating… :P

And I await mine as well.

I want a President Aria plush.

No mention of the collector postcards? Or did I get those for being one of the first to pre-order, within hours of the press release announcing the release-date?

Hoshi: Nope. Still don’t really like the President. :P

dm00: I mentioned it in my previous comment in response to zzeroparticle. They are postcards featuring character art from the series on them, and they are nice to look at, though I wish there was more Neo Venezia involved with them as well.

Overall, I’ve thought the ARIA box has been very well done! I expected an excellent translation job from RightStuf, and they’ve provided it… and no dub just made me very happy too.

Video quality is excellent, sound is good… what more could you ask?

Runningkid: It’s interesting that RightStuf hasn’t really decided to open things up to the rest of the world. But is it sensible to them? Who knows?

Wonderduck: I’d ask for Season 2 to come faster. :P

RightStuf ships overseas, but they only do so using trackable (and therefore expensive) means. I shipped some DVDs to a friend in Britain a while back (RightStuf sale stuff), and, even the cheapest shipping I could find was ridiculously expensive ($12, I think, for a boxed set). All the while we were a bit nervous it would get lost in shipping.

I opened my Aria set last night, and was stunned to find the 40-page (black and white, sadly) “Guide to Neo-Venezia”. This is no budget release, at all, it’s wonderfully put together. There must be some serious Aria fans on the Nozomi staff.

Ahhh when I get a proper job, I’ll be sure to start collecting some ARIA merchandise to support the producers!

Just dropping by to say “hi” and thanks for the blogroll! It’s only reasonable for me to do the same in return.

    Cheers!
