The temperature was already high when the KF2 drivers went out for their timed practice at Sarno. The sky was blue, but clouds began to gather at the nearby summit of Vesuvius.

As the leader of a session that was generally faster than the other two, James Thorp (Maranello / Maxter) posted the absolute fastest time with 1′06”224. The Polish driver Karol Basz (Birel / Parilla) took the second position and Andrea Dalè (CRG / Maxter) third. Then it was Tony Kart with Timmy Hansen, Flavio Camponeschi, Petri Suvanto (fastest in his session) and Mario Schettino. Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter) was the fastest in the second session, but only eighth overall.

Matteo Vigano (Zanardi / Parilla) was 13th, Giacomo Patrono (Birel / TM) 15th, Sebastien Bailly (TonyKart / Vortex) 16th. Tom Grice was 18th, Aniello Smarrazzo 20th, Giaguaro Nero 21st, Sami Luka 24th. Alban Authié was 27th ahead of Jack Harvey and Oliver Rowland. Still further back, Robin Frijns was 41st, while Zoel Amberg and Joel Johansson weren’t credited with a time.

The young Finn Petri Suvanto (TonyKart / Vortex), came out in the lead after the long series of qualifying heats, ahead of Flavio Camponeschi, Andrea Dalè and Matteo Vigano. Groman is sixth, Patrono eighth, Smarrazzo ninth, Cautela tenth. Jack Harvey has qualified 14th, Sebastien Bailly 16th, Giaguaro Nero 18th, Alban Authié 22nd and Sami Luka 25th.

The non-qualifier list includes quite a lot of good drivers, starting with Oliver Rowland, Robert Foster-Jones, Paolo De Conto, Joel Johansson, Felice Tiene, Zoel Amberg and Robin Frijns, but the repechage allowed Tiene, Rowland, Weckstrom, Frijns, De Conto and Benjamin to enter the final. Amberg finished seventh on the verge of qualification.
