  • Mary Jean Iron : Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.

Did you know that astronauts love the beach?

Simon

Especially lucky six-year-olds with Aunties who know just what to bring for a special surprise.

He wore it all day.

That is just too cute!

He looks like he could be an astronaut on Cocoa Beach in Florida (near Cape Canaveral). Very cute!
Sue

Adorable photo! I'm guessing even if he were sweltering he probably would not take off his astronaut suit. Too cute!

OH! that made me smile this morning! :) thanks for sharing such a sweet pic!

What an amazing pic!
What an amazing gifty too...
Great job auntie!
I'm so glad Simon is having fun....and making me smile!

Oh I love these kind of cute moments in a kids life. I am glad you are a scrapbooker so you remember it.

What a great Auntie - and so much fun for Simon!!!
You know its loved when they wear it all day!!
Nicky

I have to ask where did she get that outfit? My kids have been running around the house with laundry baskets are their heads pretending to be astronauts. I would love to surprise them with a real costume.

That is the cutest, Ali. Thanks for sharing!!

What a wonderful gift. Just up Simon's alley. The photo overlay is perfect for the photo.

Too sweet!!! :)

oh--that's awesome!!

But .. did he sleep in it? LOL! ... What precious times!

that simply ROCKS

that is adorable! what a great auntie he has!
love the journal overlay too...picked that up last night and started playing.
plus...sooooo glad your travel stamp was available again...what a treat! going on vacation this week, it will be waiting for me when i get back home...yahoo!

hahaha! that is the cutest thing I've seen!

I love seeing how he enjoys dress-up play. My daughter has always enjoyed it. (She also has an astronaut suit because that is what she is going to be one day.) But just recently my son has started dressing up also. Peter Pan and Buzz are his favorites. Love the imagination!

just put those in my shopping bag over at DD - love how the add so much!

on another note - caught a portion of Glenn Beck last night, had a segment about autism and the "watch me learn" program. Families video tape themselves doing every day activities and their autistic son watched it over and over again....they made amazing progress....I need to find out more myself, but I had to share.

have a happy 4th!

Love your pictures...I went over to DD to check out your stuff and I love it but do you have more examples of how it looks...cuz unless i see it on your site i wouldn't know what to do with it.

what an awesome gift! He's going to have fun with that for a long time. I love the overlay on the photo!

How adorable - the perfect gift! I love what you did with it too.

On another note - did you see this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJnjPnk9ASc (a darling autistic boy's story).

What a great picture!!

Do the space shuttles still land in the water or was that just in the "old days"? He certainly looks prepared for both! Great shot. And great Auntie.

YEAH!! Your stamps at Cocoa Daisy are available again-I ordered a bunch of new "toys"....can't wait to get them! Will you be sharing more of your 2 albums from the kit-your ideas are ALWAYS inspiring! Erin :)

Very cool... and I just had to buy that overlay set! lol!

Great photo. I love that he's pulling up the legs so they don't get wet. What a great auntie he has.

Awesome! I love the glimpses of everyday life that you capture with your camera Ali! Could the cool aunt share where she got said outfit? My boys would *LOVE* to have one too!

That is sooo completely cute and adorable!! Love this!

Okay when I saw this I had to laugh out loud, brought back a memory from a few months ago when my little man wanted an astronaut outfit one day so bad, he just kept pointing to it in a book. We have MANY dress-up outfits but nothing close to an astronaut suit - he wasn't happy. Finally my oldest got the idea to make one out of white garbage bags, it sufficed for about 5 minutes before he was over it. I would absolutely love to get one of these for him. Where did Auntie get it, please share. How fantastic for Simon!
Great photo by the way!

Happy Summer -

Kinda funny 'cause I live just south of Kennedy Space Center and since the shuttles are launched from the coast I thought, "Well of course astronauts love the beach. Makes sense to me!" My garage door rattles when a rocket goes up and the whole house shakes from the sonic boom when the shuttle re-enters the atmosphere.

We never get tired of watching astronauts come and go!

That is a perfect picture! You can really feel the happy emotions from the shot.

That is AWESOME!!! A treasured memory that you will never forget. Happy and safe 4th of July to you and your beautiful family!

This picture totally made my day!!!

VERY COOL photo!

Might I ask a question? If you were traveling to Africa and only wanted to bring one lens on your trip, for a Canon Rebel. WHat lens would it be?

Oh wow, how cute is he? My Thomas sometimes talks about being an astronaut. Dreams are wonderful things, no? :D

I love that kid!

Love it. Thanks again for sharing your family moments with us.

Awesome photo! He's such a wonderful child. What an awesome gift (Simon) and the suit too!

Awesome love it

LOVE this photo. My son Parker had the same one but in Orange. He would. not. take. it. off.
Simon looks adorable! Boy dreams! Love it!

I'll be stopping by the CK booth to met you girl! I know you're tall so it'll be fun to meet another tall scraper like me!! See you at CHA.

so so so sweet :) He looks like he had a blast :)

So cool! Great gift! Good thing you captured this moment.

Just FYI for your "astronaut", I live very close to Kennedy Space Center and astronauts do love the beach! They actually have a beach house out past the launch pads that they use! You gotta love that :) Great photo and great blog! Thanks for sharing your life with us readers.

aw, very cute!

Fun blog!

He l0oks like he is having a wonderful time!!!

Every time I look at this I remember the scene from a "Christmas Story" with the pink bunny suit. Your son is blessed to have a more with it auntie!
