Did you know that astronauts love the beach?
Especially lucky six-year-olds with Aunties who know just what to bring for a special surprise.
He wore it all day.

He looks like he could be an astronaut on Cocoa Beach in Florida (near Cape Canaveral). Very cute!

Adorable photo! I'm guessing even if he were sweltering he probably would not take off his astronaut suit. Too cute!

I have to ask where did she get that outfit? My kids have been running around the house with laundry baskets are their heads pretending to be astronauts. I would love to surprise them with a real costume.

Posted by: Valeen | Wednesday, 02 July 2008 at 07:33 AM
I love seeing how he enjoys dress-up play. My daughter has always enjoyed it. (She also has an astronaut suit because that is what she is going to be one day.) But just recently my son has started dressing up also. Peter Pan and Buzz are his favorites. Love the imagination!

just put those in my shopping bag over at DD - love how the add so much!
on another note - caught a portion of Glenn Beck last night, had a segment about autism and the "watch me learn" program. Families video tape themselves doing every day activities and their autistic son watched it over and over again....they made amazing progress....I need to find out more myself, but I had to share.
have a happy 4th!

Do the space shuttles still land in the water or was that just in the "old days"? He certainly looks prepared for both! Great shot. And great Auntie.

Okay when I saw this I had to laugh out loud, brought back a memory from a few months ago when my little man wanted an astronaut outfit one day so bad, he just kept pointing to it in a book. We have MANY dress-up outfits but nothing close to an astronaut suit - he wasn't happy. Finally my oldest got the idea to make one out of white garbage bags, it sufficed for about 5 minutes before he was over it. I would absolutely love to get one of these for him. Where did Auntie get it, please share. How fantastic for Simon!
Great photo by the way!
Happy Summer -

Kinda funny 'cause I live just south of Kennedy Space Center and since the shuttles are launched from the coast I thought, "Well of course astronauts love the beach. Makes sense to me!" My garage door rattles when a rocket goes up and the whole house shakes from the sonic boom when the shuttle re-enters the atmosphere.
We never get tired of watching astronauts come and go!

VERY COOL photo!
Might I ask a question? If you were traveling to Africa and only wanted to bring one lens on your trip, for a Canon Rebel. WHat lens would it be?

Just FYI for your "astronaut", I live very close to Kennedy Space Center and astronauts do love the beach! They actually have a beach house out past the launch pads that they use! You gotta love that :) Great photo and great blog! Thanks for sharing your life with us readers.
