3 Supercars
Auto June 29th, 2008Just a little something I was thinking about earlier this morning, if I could have any three cars I wanted with no limitations on price, what would I choose. I managed to cut a list down to around ten vehicles, picking a top three was a very difficult task.
Bugatti Veyron

Porsche 911

Lamborghini Gallardo

Other contenders were the Bentley Continental GT, the Cadillac Escalade, the Aston Martin DB9, and the Mercedes Benz CL.
What would you pick if you were given the choice?

Nice choices. I really like the Bugatti.
If I had the choice I would choose the Tesla Roadster. I like it because the design of it is just perfect.. I also like it because of it’s electric motor. Sure, the minimal environmental impact is nice and all, but I like the electric motor because there is something cool about having different things from everyone else. (Probably why I like Apple so much…)

I agree with Alex, the tesla is an awesome car. environmentally beneficial, and super fast!
June 29th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
Pssh, Supercars. I’d be happier with a 2008 Mustang GT
June 29th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
I almost totally agree with you Glenn, Bugatti Veyron, brilliant masterpiece of design and engineering. Lambo Murcielago just a fun car, crazy performance and growls like nothing you’ve heard before, also maybe you want to have a look at the Reventon Lambo, its sick too, however your Porche 911 choice i wouldn’t agree. Bloody awesome car and has a kind of cult backing it but just too common and trying to spot the difference between the latest models and those of 10 years past, not much really changes. They are also rather common down here in Queenstown, and being mac users we don’t like common things do we now :D
I would have to choose the Aston martin Db9 or Vanquish, just pure design, brilliant British icon and well of course john Ives drives one :D +when can you say you ever saw one of them driving down the street?? id imagine not as often as a Porche 911 or a car of similar stature (Cayman,Boxter, all look similar)

I like these three, but I will have to mention that if you are looking for something really special, you should check out the Pagani Zonda and the Rossion Q1.
I love the Zonda and I think that it truly defines exotic supercar.
Also, not that I’m picky, but that picture of the Lambo is actually the Gallardo, not the Murcielago.
And as for a competitor to the Bugatti, check out the SSC Ultimate Aero TT.
Good choices, for sure. I love the new Lambo’s… the Reventon especially. But me… if I had to boil it down… I’d roll in a Zonda….
June 29th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Nice choices. Call me crazy but I think I would chose the Ferrari F430, BMW M5, and maybe a MB S65 AMG. I love the supercars, but I have a 2 year old little girl so I would like a back seat. Hey, maybe I can cram her Recaro car seat in the back of that new Ferrari California.
June 29th, 2008 at 5:20 pm
Veyron and 911 are definites, but I think that I would want a Lambo Reventon. Too bad there are only 20.
June 29th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Thats a picture of a Lamborghini Gallardo (not a Murcielago). But the answer to your question - I would choose the Bugatti Veyron!
June 29th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
An Escalade? Are you serious. Of all the cars on Earth… I cannot even begin to tell you how it sucks so much (gas, too).
June 29th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
3 Cars.
One of them would have to be a Rolls Royce. Maybe the Phantom Drophead Coupe.
Then certainly the Bugatti Veyron, no doubt about it but that car is fast. I saw the Top Gear video on that car and it is amazing.
Then a BMW M3 which is half the price of a Ferrari 360 yet has almost the same power and is more of a lifestyle friendly car. I know price does not matter but thats just me, I love BMW.
THEN for a motorcycle it would have to be a BMW bike or A CONFEDERATE WRAITH! - $55,000

No doubt, the Aston Martin DB9. It is just an incredible beautifull car. I wouldn’t pick the Porsche 911. It is like driving a cliché.
June 29th, 2008 at 10:35 pm
Aston Martin - DBS
Bugatti - Veyron
Lamborgini - Reventon
Rolls Royce - Phantom Drop-head
Koenigsegg CCX
Ferrari - 275 GTS

For the sheer excitement of acceleration, I’d go for the Porsche GT9 by 9ff - it does 0-300km/h faster than Veyron and it’s all manual, no traction control - gives you the feel that you’re the one in charge.
Then there’s the Porsche 911 - it’s been refreshed recently so I’d wait for facelifted Turbo to land and get that one for everyday driving.
Speaking of supercars - Audi RS6 Plus - 640bhp and a plenty of space for you kids and a labrador!
But I’m pretty fine with the E93 BMW 335i Cabrio I drive. 306bhp to to remind me I’ve got the traction control and I should be happy about that :)
And if you want the looks, get pre-1980 911 Targa. The light blue looks really magnificent.

Don’t know if u know this but the lambo in the picture is not a Murcielago its a Gallardo.
June 30th, 2008 at 1:07 am
Hmm, if I could only pick 3…
Audi R8
Tesla Roadster
Bugatti Veyron
I think…
June 30th, 2008 at 2:53 am
My top three would be:
2009 Corvette ZR1
McLaren F1 LM GTR
2007 Dodge Viper
June 30th, 2008 at 3:58 am
The 3rd one is not Murcielago.
by the way, I like your theme.
June 30th, 2008 at 8:09 am
Wow, this’ll be tough:
1) Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead: it’s classy; it’s big; it’s expensive. What more could you ask for? The lack-of-roof makes it even better, of course.
2) Buick Enclave (Pimped to hell and back): I love the external and internal styling of this thing; Stock, it’s not too expensive, but it would be once I’m through with it.
3) Mini Cooper: Because I could.
June 30th, 2008 at 10:41 am
Can’t choose three… but I can manage four.
Bugatti Veyron
Aston Martin DBS
Tesla Roadster
Audi R8
I’m not a fan of Porshes myself, but I can see why people are attracted to them; I saw a Lamborghini Murcielago today when I went out for lunch - It has an amazing sound. :-)
June 30th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
i own the Cadillac Escalade and the bmw 3.25
June 30th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
Price no object == pulling the trigger on something you’ll never have a chance at otherwise.
Ergo, the Veyron. Not only is it the world’s fastest and most impressively engineered car, but it’s also $1.6M, and I doubt I’ll wake up one day and find that floating around the spare change drawer.

SuperCar fans should come to the annual Palm Beach SuperCar Weekend. http://palmbeachsupercarweekend.com but for more pix please check out our coverage of the event at http://ictv1.com/palmbeachsupercarweekend. You want Veyrons, plenty every year. This past January, Aston Martin brought in the Casino Royale James Bond model. Also see the previous year’s events.
June 30th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
My top cars are: Bently, Mustang, Dodge Viper and Audi R8
July 2nd, 2008 at 7:38 pm
If I could have any 3 cars, I would pick…
Audi R8
Shelby Mustang GT 500
Turbo Charged 2004 Eclipse
I’m not that demanding. I like speed + looks, but nothing over the top.
July 3rd, 2008 at 7:20 am
I like both the Bugatti and the Porsche — the Lamborghini doesn’t look good enough in my eyes though ;-)
July 8th, 2008 at 1:56 am
I would go with:
PPI R8 Razor
Bugatti Veyron
Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
Aston Martin DB9
Funny how 3 of the four are genetic siblings of VW/AUDI
July 10th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Lotus Elise, in liquid blue.
I realise it’s *only* around $50,000, but I love this car.
Speed thru light-weight, and this car weighs in at just over one tonne.
July 13th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I’d go with:
- 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
- 2008 Nissan GT-R
- 2010 Honda NSX (when released)
July 14th, 2008 at 8:55 pm
Good choices; I’d take the Bugatti hands down no matter what as well.
Though, your third picture is a picture of a Lamborghini Gallardo….not a Murcielago.
One of my friends has a BMW M6, and I’ve driven it a few times, and with the Bugatti, I’d take that car as well.
July 20th, 2008 at 11:45 am
1. Maserati GranTurismo S
2. Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
3. Fisker Karma
July 22nd, 2008 at 2:36 pm
I’ll take a BMW M3, thank you very much.
July 26th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
I want one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s hydrogen/biofuel powered Hummers.
July 30th, 2008 at 6:38 am
I’d quite fancy a go in the new Nissan GTR but if I were only to pick one car (don’t want to be greedy) I’d have an Enzo Ferrari
August 1st, 2008 at 8:30 am
Just so you know that car is a Lamborghini Gallardo ;P
