- Hillary's out, Obama's in, and the GOP is gunning for him. I mean, just look at their website — little to no mention of McCain at all. Can we just get to November already? I've already got my Airtran ticket to DC and I want to be at Obama's inauguration. Please believe it.
- So I went on a date yesterday with this guy I met online. For the most part, I wasn’t really into the guy since he withheld a lot of information about himself…namely, his grody fucking yellow nasty teeth. Dude had like a crusty layer of plaque on his upper gumline that was just wrong. When he leaned in for a kiss, I instinctively leaned back, which of course pissed him off. Can you believe that? Dude was a walking case of tartar buildup and he had the nerve to get pissy with me for not wanting a taste. Please.
He also lied about his age (said he was 30, was actually 38), but the plaque thing was much worse.
- Speaking of dates, I have another date on Saturday before I leave town for vacation. It's actually a double date — Goofball and Milk-Chan with yours truly and their friend, Dr. T. I actually met him back in October of last year at a dinner party. The four of us are heading to a drag show in East Point (*groan*) for a local pet preservation charity. Granted, Milk-Chan and I will probably be the only people of color there, so this could be a toss-up as to how much of a good time I'll have. We'll see.
- Anyone remember that Buick Heritage Sweepstakes that went on during Black History Month this year? Yeah, me neither. But I guess I entered it on a whim because I won one of their prizes!
One thousand lucky winners will receive a Family History Kit consisting of Family Tree Maker Essentials software, a DVD of African American Lives and a hardcover copy of In Search of Our Roots: How 19 Extraordinary African Americans Reclaimed Their Past.
I'm thinking of giving the kit to Death to Shakespeare, but knowing her, she'd hate it, and would probably go off on me about it since the last "I'm building the family tree" conversation. Moms…gotta love 'em.
- In case I wasn’t busy enough with school, the next four months are going to pile it on thick, When I originally signed up, my advisor told me I only had 11 classes to take (ten classes plus a final Capstone course) to graduate – so when I signed up for my tenth class, I thought I’d register early for the Capstone course, since it has to be done after all ten classes have been completed. So how come I find out that instead of 11 classes, now I have to take 15? Here’s how – my original counselor, the Jill Scott look-alike – didn’t even know herself. A quick call to the center to verify proved that, as well as her firing over a year ago. So in order for me to get out on time by December 2008, I’ll have to double my course load for the next two terms. So if posting gets lax between July and October, then you know why. Twice the zombie in half the time!
- I got an e-mail from Jonathan Perry from justbthat.com about an interview/call-in show he’s doing on June 24 at 7:00pm via Blog Talk Radio:
"On the 24th of this month I have the distinct privilege of interviewing sheryl lee ralph, phil wilson and gil robertson for a national HIV testing day special. What’s important about this special is a young man that I met a while ago who is tired of being tested and is seriously contemplating allowing himself to be infect. Over the years he has confided in me about many things he would never share with anyone else, like his desire to to be infected. I am not an advocate of telling a person how they should live, but at the age of 22 (19 when we met), I felt like something wasn’t right with that picture."
Tune in at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/justbthat Tuesday, June 24 at 7:00pm.
- I also have a few giveaways scheduled coming soon, so stay tuned for that. Not sure if I'll have some sort of contest revolving around them, but hey, free stuff is free stuff, right?
- I have a Tumblr blog, but I honestly have no idea what to put there, particularly after finding out about Profilactic, a cool site where you can create your own lifestream — all the places where you have online profiles at popular social networking sites. Maybe I should turn my Tumblr blog into a second blog, but what to write about? What do you think I should do with it? Moreover, what would you like to see there?
