Entrepreneur Advice from American Idol?

simoncowellthumbs.jpgAs an occasional viewer of the hit “reality TV” show American Idol I never thought that I would appreciate any advice given by the show’s callous judge Simon Cowell. However today I found an interview in Business Week in which the magazine asks Cowell not only about the show’s success but about his other entrepreneurial adventures. Apparently the British-born high school dropout is a self-proclaimed entrepreneur - and judging by the success of American Idol I would say he’s not doing too bad for himself.

You’re best known as the tough judge on American Idol, but do you consider yourself a music man or an entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur. I’ve always treated the music business as a business. Whether I’m making TV shows or signing artists, you have to do it by the head and not the heart — and I run my businesses that way.

Be sure to read the rest of the interview here and add your own entrepreneurial advice here.
