From Omni:
I am currently seeking an editorialist for Random Curiosity. Ideally, such a person would be able to present opinion on the news topic of the day (such as the Kanokon and Geass items mentioned above) or on whatever other current topics they think are relevant to the anime community/industry/etc. This does not require any Japanese language ability, but it does require good English and good writing ability. If you’re interested, please send me an email and include two sample writings, the first addressing the question of “Should anime adaptations strictly follow the manga?” and, the other is any topic of your choice. You could talk about ankles for all I care - the more creative the better, as long as there’s some relation to anime/manga/culture.
Interesting! Building up teams is really all the rage these days, and it makes sense. I imagine it’s hard work slaving over essays, but most editorial sites are not updated that often, and so traffic and comment numbers are not as encouraging. Plus you need someone to churn out boring episode summaries in between your bouts of brilliance. You editorialists are the deculture to our episode summary machine!
All joking aside, this is a pretty sweet opportunity for anyone to showcase his/her skills in front of a large and eager audience. Omni’s summaries are widely accepted as the gold standard, so you better bring your A game! BTW, the answer to the first question is yes, unless you have skilled writers who can fit the story better to an animated medium and come up with original content that fits canon.

Omni is getting a partner? Wow~
He shouldn’t have any trouble finding a new friend to help him. I mean … with that number of blog stats each day …
Well, Omni has had some partners before that helped him cover series at the beginning of the season and also series he would not normally watch. Patrick, Jaalin, and currently Divine all helped out at Random Curiosity. However, this is the first time he’s been actively seeking someone to do editorials I think.
woahh… i wonder how many really poor writers are going to try out versus the good ones… i’m not even going to bother >_>
I looked up RandomC on Alexa earlier today and Omni has a higher pagerank than Danny Choo. @_@
