A.: When do you need this?
J.: Let’s say by lunch. No, how about two o’clock.
A.: I can do that.
J.: Alright, so –
E.: Jason.
J.: What.
E.: Look, I tried to get you out of it, but I couldn’t do it. I really, really tried.
J.: San Francisco?
E.: Yeah. Sorry, dude.
J.: I already figured I was going.
E.: It’s just that you have to be there.
J.: I get it. I was already planning on it.
E.: You can ride with me.
J.: When are you leaving?
E.: I’m not leaving on Wednesday, I’ll tell you that.
J.: Alright.
E.: Everybody else wants to leave Wednesday, but I don’t want to.
J.: Okay.
E.: I want to go on Friday.
J.: Alright. I’ll ride with you.
E.: But they might make us go on Thursday.
J.: Well, just let me know.
E.: Because A. wants to go Wednesday, but B. doesn’t want to go on Wednesday, so he’s going on Thursday. And I might have to ride with him. So you can ride with us then. If we have to go on Thursday. But I’d rather go on Friday.
J.: Okay.
E.: I know it’s a hassle. I know. I know.
J.: I didn’t say anything.
E.: It’s just that we want to have the whole team there.
J.: Okay.
E.: I would just rather go on Friday. But what that means is that we’d have to leave at the butt-crack of dawn.
J.: That’s fine.
E.: And I’m not driving all the way into town. And I’m not riding in your Jeep. And you can’t drive. Because I can’t be in the car when you’re driving.
J.: Alright.
E.: So you’ll have to drive to my house and leave your car.
J.: That sounds fine.
E.: It’s a rough ride. My Mini, I mean. For such a long way.
J.: I drive a Jeep.
E.: Yeah, but for three hours at a time?
J.: Sometimes.
E.: Oh. Well, the Mini’s rough for three hours at a time.
J.: I don’t see why. You have short legs.
E.: Well, it’ll be rough on you.
J.: Sounds peachy.
E.: I’m just saying. I’d have gotten you out of it if I could’ve.
J.: It’s fine.
E.: Alright. So we’ll either leave Thursday or Friday. And you’ll either ride with B. and me or you’ll just ride with me. And we’ll either meet here and leave early in B.’s rental car on Thursday or you’ll have to drive to my house on Friday morning. Butt-crack of dawn, dude.
J.: Just let me know when you know which it is.
E.: I tried to get you out of it.
J.: It’s perfectly fine.
