A Passing

Posted on Friday 16 May 2008

Chances are good that if not for Robert Mondavi, I would not be in this business. And I didn’t even know him.

A friend from Southern called me today and said he had the same thought as he was driving.

I suspect, if you are in the industry, you had a similar experience reflecting on his passing this morning.

I can’t imagine a more powerful testament to his legacy.

I am sorry that he passed away. I was working as a headwaiter on a big cruise line for 4 years, many times served his vines, and enjoyed as well.

His Legecy is his life was that it was full, never half throttle! He was tireless in the pursuit the bring California wine to the forefront of the industry!

I like you Josh, know that if he hand not set the pace for the rest of us to follow, I would not have gotten into this business as well!

May he rest in Peace and in our Memories!
