Adobe Photoshop CS4 To Favour Vista 64-Bit

Adobe’s plans to release 64-bit only version of Photoshop for its Creative Suite 4.0 software bundle for Windows PCs, but Mac users will have to wait till version 5.0 to see the same treatment. The 64-bit version will not have ram limitation as in the 32-bit environment. So why is Adobe abandoning Mac since Apple do provide 64-bit environment using Carbon? Go figure.

    What a bizzare decision… :?

There are far more Adobe users on mac than Windows. The only thing I can presume is HARD lobbying on Microsoft side (which is basically all they seem to do these days).

“There are far more Adobe users on macs than Windows” where are you getting your statics from? Its a common believe that Design and all things related are the realm of Mac/Apple, but if you go to real design firms like Fantasty-Interactive and CG production houses there you’ll see PCs outnumbering macs and using Photoshop and other graphic programs.

I have nothing against macs as I have one at home, and I spent 2 years as a Mac Tech in school, it just irks me when I hear misinformation about Macs…such as they’re 4x faster because they don’t use Intel (oopps scratch that rumor cuz now they do), they never crash and my favorite they don’t unexpectedly quit and make you lose your work. Sorry, that happens on both machines, with just about the same frequency.

Sorry just had to rant about this. :)
