Upcoming Journalistic Events

Posted by Jeff Barnett on May 10th, 2008

I’ve got several things cooking right now that readers can look forward to in the coming weeks.

I’m writing a review for the New York Post of the new book from Richard Engel titled War Journal: My Five Years in Iraq. The book will be released on June 3, 2008. The review will be published in both the printed and online versions of the paper. I’ll save my comments for the review, but I will reveal that I think this book is worth reading if you are interested in the history of the war in Iraq.

I’m writing a two part article on fitness for Primer, an up and coming online magazine. The magazine is targeted at the young professional audience, somewhere between Maxim and GQ. I think it’s a great idea and I look forward to contributing. My first article will focus on the mental aspects of fitness and the second part will examine my opinion on how to best train for overall health.

Stay tuned for more info on each.

I’ll be looking forward to your review and this book. Richard Engel’s reporting in Iraq has been top-notch. I wouldn’t suspect much less from this book.

I just came across your blog and read up on a lot of posts here. Great blog. Look forward to coming back and reading some new material.

Just saw Richard talking to the President on TV…he looks well and rested. “Fist” is one of my favorites. You are my first blog! I think it was a good choice. I’m truly fascinated with the political stuff. The amazing thing is that I was an MP and trained at McClellan, also my brother is currently living in Madison, AL. Small world. I’m in Oregon and will be out canvassing for Barack today. Are you waiting for the Midnight Hour or is it waiting for you?
