Jeremiah Wright does not want Obama in the White House

Elections, Hypocrisy

One would think that with the passion folks like Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have towards “furthering the advancement of the Black community” the mere THOUGHT of having a black President would make them wet their pants… well you would THINK so.

There’s one problem with the situation that seems to be coming to a painful head between Obama and his former pastor. His inauguration would NOT be a good thing for a race pimp like Wright.

Think about it for a moment. Jeremiah Wright is getting a lot of press, and attention for his “black people are still the slaves of the whites” bull squeeze… he seems hell bent on riding this wave to the peak of whatever race baiting mountain peak he’s climbing for. Why would he want that to end with a fellow black man in the highest office in this country?

If he can destroy Barack Obama’s hopes at the Presidency from behind the scenes, while pretending to care about the advancements of folks who share his skin tone, he can bolster his “credibility” with the race pimping crowd by putting up a “white men held him down” front… ESPECIALLY if McCain is President Elect.

People in the 15 minutes of fame hype tend to do stupid things, and I firmly believe Jeremiah Write would toss Obama under the bus for his own twisted agenda.

If only Jeremiah Wright actually had a bus to toss Obama under, right? But I firmly believe Wright was a fool to come out and talk about what he did. He was sort of given the benefit of the doubt when the videos first surfaced in late March. His silence was a bit odd but later understandable since he had the potential to further damage himself, his church, and the Obama campaign. Obama’s speech helped put the issue aside. Then he had to ruin it by coming out with stupid accusations almost a whole month after it started.

At the same time though, the media is taking it and blowing it a bit out of proportion. Emphasis needs to be placed on more pressing and pertinent issues, not on the people that aren’t running for President of these United States of America.

The sad reality is that America (white America and black America) do not want to hear the truth. Although I do not believe Wright capitalized on his opportunity to address the world through the press club, he is speaking what he believes. Some of which is very true, I might add. It takes a strong man to speak what he believes even when it goes against the vast majority of the way others are thinking (or a vast majority of others who will not stand for what they believe). When I saw him at the press club, I did not even realize that he gave a sermon prior to the question and answer period. It wasn’t until looking through you tube videos that I realized this. I think the sermon was delivered well. However, white America does not want to hear points like “America has never apologized to blacks for slavery.” I personally do not need an apology, but at the heart of forgiveness is a repentance (Luke 17:3-4). On every sound bite I’ve heard except one (Bill Clinton ridin dirty), I have listened to the entire sermon. Each and every time I have done this, it has changed my perception of what I originally heard. Most people will not do this because they are not interested in the truth. They are more interested in what makes them feel good and at ease. For Jeremiah Wright to continue to teach consistently while Obama runs for president shows that his standards are governed by God and not by what is popular at the moment. Don’t get me wrong, I want Obama to be president. I also want light to continue to shine on the wrongs until they are made right.
