Scalia to the US - GET OVER IT!

Conspiracies, Elections, Government

I love it! In a statement to the press today, Justice Antonin Scalia made a pointed comment aimed at those of you out there still living in December of 2000. Yes, you know who you are… the bloggers and politically retarded out there that think Gove v. Bush was a politically motivated decision and some sort of vast conspiracy worth wasting your life on.

In an interview with 60 Minutes, Scalia was asked for his stance on the belief by many that the 2000 Bush v Gore decision was a political move rather than a decision based on justice.

” I say it’s nonsense. Get over it. It’s so old by now. The principal issue in the case, whether the scheme that the Florida Supreme Court had put together violated the federal Constitution, that wasn’t even close. The vote was seven to two. It was Al Gore who made it a judicial question…. We didn’t go looking for trouble. It was he who said, ‘I want this to be decided by the courts,’ What are we supposed to say ‘Not important enough?’”

I think he handled the question very well… get over it. Florida was the problem and they need to fix their issue. The decisions Florida made for recounting their ballots was unconstitutional and riddled with errors. The courts, at the request of Al Gore, looked into it and rectified the situation, just not in HIS favor.

It’s 2008 folks, we’re on our 2nd Presidential election cycle since 2000 and people STILL go on and on about the 2000 election.

GET OVER IT!
