Apple Fights New York City Logo Plan

Apple is challenging a trademark registration application that New York City filed last May which Apple said resembles their logo. New York City’s proposed GreeNYC logo is a green, figure-eight outline reminiscent of an infinity sign, with a stem. Steve Jobs what are you thinking? The Big Apple aka NY has been used since 1920s in newspaper columns well before Steve’s Apple. What do you think?

Well, given the vicious ferocity with which the NYC Corporation Counsel pursues anyone and anything using NYC “trademarks” (or anything that comes close) I can’t say I blame Apple. The city deserves this.

apple needs to leave it alone, it looks nothing like their apple, it is a rediculous reason to start a fuss.
