Spring Cleaning: Week Two, Days 4-6

Here are the next three days of activities for spring cleaning our bathrooms. I have made a lot of progress towards organizing the bathroom and these last three days focus more on the cleaning aspect for this space (which my bathroom desperately needs). This will wrap up our time in the bathroom so we can work on other projects.

I was thinking we could focus on our living room/playroom space after this! Let me know what you think!

"These printables are so great! Thank you so much for your hard work.

I hope to finish up my bathrooms tomorrow since I only have the floors left to do. I worked ahead, and didn't have to do things like clean the shower curtains (we have glass doors) or caulk the tub. Yippee! What a good feeling.

I think living room/play room sounds wonderful for next week. I know mine could use a good spring cleaning. :)"

"Yes, playroom/living room (which is one in the same in my old house!) would be great. Nifty storage ideas for the toys, toys, toys would be fantastic. Thanks!!"

"I love these printables...I always get so distracted and try to do too much at one time...that always leaves a lot of things only partially done.

By the way, the first printable for today says its for the kitchen..."

"OH NO! That opened a can of worms because all of the printables did say kitchen on them. I have fixed all six (phew) and now they should be correct. That will teach me to try and take cold medicine while doing this stuff :) Hope that helps- thanks for the correction!!"

"Yes, the living room/play area is a great idea. If anyone has some great toy storage ideas for in the living room, please share."

"Storage of toys for family room: I found (at our local craft store) some wood slatted crates. I then sanded them and spray painted them colors to match the room. It took 1 1/2 - 2 cans of paint to get them well covered. I got the crates on sale for $6 each and the spray paint was about $2 a can I think. They have held up well for over a year now. We have an unfinished basement where most of the toys are but the crates work well for the ones we keep upstairs.

Another tip is to add baskets to a bookshelf, this would hide the clutter.

For the build up of random kid items that don't belong in the main areas of the house: I used to use a large stair basket and the kids had to check it on there way up to bed each night BUT now with fours kids old enough to do there own the basket was too full for them to go through it and find their own stuff. So... I bought 4 smaller baskets (about 8-9" square) and these are now on a shelf in our kitchen. Each child has there own and as I am cleaning anything that is theirs goes in the basket for them to take care of later (or when the basket is full).

Hope these help.
Jennifer"
