The Mercedes-Benz B-Class featuring fuel-cell drive has completed its winter testing in northern Sweden successfully. At sub-zero temperatures, the zero-emission drive showcased its capability and vital data was logged in the course of this test program. The engineers focus was on the interaction between different components in the car in real-life winter conditions.

Mercedes-Benz will be launching the first series vehicle with a local, zero-emission fuel-cell drive in summer 2010. Small-series production of the B-Class F-CELL will begin in early 2010. A new advanced type of fuel-cell drive will be employed to power this vehicle. The advantages are its compact size, better performance and suitability for everyday use.

This is great news. But I’m guessing the Fuel Cell won’t be available outside of Europe. By the way, isn’t the car in the photo an A-Class?
