Engineers from the University of Washington have developed contact lens that can display information about all the incoming calls that come on your mobile phone.

An electronic circuit, LEDs and a tiny antenna have been embedded into the contact lenses and these were placed on the rabbit’s eye.

We have seen this used by the Terminator or a visor-less Geordi La Forge from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.â€

I read they could only be used safely for 20 mins or so at the moment. Awesome technology though.

As a Computer Engineering undergrad, I look at this technology as absolutely stunning. Yet, I’m going to caution myself if this product comes out and wait until further tests are done and the lenses are safe from any short circuits, etc. I don’t know the exact details other than the statement that it is safe so I can’t say that this is or is not safe for humans. I think it’s a great idea and I think this is something that will be in our future. I can’t imagine the possibilities. Great to hear.
