New Comic Book Movie Trailers
Apple’s movie trailers site just posted a couple movie trailers for two comic book based movies that I am interested in seeing upon their release. The first is the sequel to 2005’s Batman Begins, entitled The Dark Knight. According to the trailer, which reveals absolutely nothing exciting whatsoever, it would appear that we are in for the Joker this time around.
Heath Ledger has been cast as the Joker, which I think is an interesting choice when you consider Ledger’s acting history. The verdict is still out on whether or not he is the right man for the job; my gut instinct tells me that he will do a fine job, albeit by way of an extremely unique version of the Joker. I imagine Ledger’s Joker will not be reminiscent of how Jack Nicholson portrayed the character in Tim Burton’s vision. Christopher Nolan seems to know what he is doing so I trust him to make the right casting choices.
The latter addition to the trailer arsenal is the trailer for Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. I have been hearing a lot of good things about this movie so the trailer piqued my interest when I found out that Downey Jr. was starring. He is an exceptionally talented actor who found himself in a whirlwind of shit many years ago, thanks to a never-ending cycle of drug abuse and rehab centers. I have been rooting for him, so to see Downey Jr. starring in this type of role intrigues me.
I am not too sure what to think of the trailer. Not knowing too much of the Iron Man back story, as I never read the comic, I am a little disappointed by what the trailer depicts. I get the impression that the trailer leads in one direction while the movie actually moves in a completely different direction. Nonetheless, Iron Man does seem like it will be a fun movie to watch.
Did either of the trailers get you so hot and bothered that you considered touching yourself? What are your thoughts on the movies?

I am looking forward to the Dark Knight release, which is going to be a long wait… and yes maybe Heath Ledger will bring something new to the character.. for most of us who have seen the other versions, the Nicholson imprint on the character is strong. So that would be definitely something to look forward to. I am not familiar with the Iron Man history as well. Great post.. thanks for sharing.
