Slides from Recent Talks on Wine Marketing

Posted on Monday 23 July 2007

Good lord. Misspelled “relations” there and used these slides in two public presentations without noticing it. Dyslexia for the win!

Also, at the request of Fabio I uploaded the slides to slideshare.net so you can now view them and embed them without having to download the file. Thanks for the tip Fabio!

I mentioned during my last talk in Napa at WITS that I’d post the slides from my talk on the blog, and here they are in PDF format (click here to download the pdf file).

I’ve gotten some great feedback on the presentation from those who’ve seen it and I’ve met some fantastic folks at each venue. If you’d like me to present at a conference or seminar feel free to drop me a line. My email address and cell phone number are, as always, right over there on the left.

Hope you enjoy.

Great info., Josh. Your fans are a good-looking bunch, too–except for that dude at Lambeau Field.

Great prezo, Josh (love when people use Keynote and not Powerpoint). And congrats on the book deal! Looking forward to the movie ;-)

I have a suggestion: why don’t you use a tool to share your presentation and to give the possibility to embedd it on other blogs? I’d like to present your presentation to my reader. You can use for example http://www.slideshare.net.

[...] “Ninety-nine percent of the people in the wine business are really blowing it,” said Gary Vaynerchuk, director of operations for the WineLibrary, a Springfield, N.J. wine store with a popular interactive Web site. Citing blogs specifically as a customer acquisition tool, Gary Vaynerchuk, as noted in a recent Inertia blog post, is something of an Internet sensation with his video blog and Josh Hermsmeyer, owner of Capozzi Family Winery and the blog Pinotblogger.com is building his wine business before releasing a single bottle of vino. Hermsmeyer gave a presentation on the power of blogging for wineries at WITS. His presentation is posted at his site, found here. [...]

    Tim,

Thanks. I don’t think there will be any movies made about us anytime soon - unless we finance them ourselves, as some Napa wineries are rumored to be doing :P

    Fabio,

Thanks for the tip! Hope this helps.

Great presentation, Josh. And the book deal–I’m with Tim. Who will play you in the movie??

Seriously, there was a lot of good information in there, and I think seeing the Google results, and the breakdown of advertising/public relations was very effective.
