Kaze no Stigma 07

Misao easily kills the Oogami family, but Ayano scoffs that Misao is still weaker than Ren. It turns out the the yoma, Michael Hurley, just lied to her about the ends justifying the means. Misao is too weak to control the gathered power, and when she hears that religion can’t justify her sins, she faints; this allows Michael to gather up all the energy and summon his blue-eyes white dragon, Vlitra. The dragon absorbs Misao, meaning that the purifying Kannagi flame will have to deal the finishing blow again.

Ayano leaps into battle, but her head is muddled as she wonders if Kazuma is in love with Misao. Kazuma saves Ayano from some jello tentacles, but gets hurt. He has a heart-to-heart with Ayano, telling her he didn’t get power to be selective; he has more than enough mojo to save everyone. With that in mind, Kazuma charges up Enraiha with a Shinen knockoff, and Ayano one-shots Vlitra. Kazuma won’t let Misao die (suicide would just be escaping her debt), and he reminds her she still owes him her body. Juugo wisely sends Misao to a convent instead. It’s finally revealed that Misao once protected Kazuma from being repeatedly lit on fire by Kannagi brats, and that’s why she is so important to him.

Kazuma was incredibly mojotastic in this episode. He speech about not being selective with his power was wonderful, and he can barely keep the ladies off him now. I was snickering at all the extra NSFW Misao scenes after her dragon romp, and the body debt reminds me of Murder Princess. It’s too bad Michael Hurley continued to yap while he was on fire, when he could have just stopped, dropped, and rolled to put out the flames. Hell, he was already in the correct position, so he only needed to roll. Meanwhile, we continue to get hints about the yoma that took over flashback girl, and Kazuma sure was pissed when Michael repeated the line, “In the name of the Stars of Sagacity, I seek only the divine truth.”

The juxtapositions used in this episode were quite good. There was both the hilarious Ren barrier and the slightly more effective naked-Misao barrier. Unfortunately, both failed. I was also intrigued at how Misao looked down on her father as someone who fawned over power, and then killed her own family members. Jeez, all Kazuma did was smack her brother around a little. The Kannagi Clan has got some serious issues, and in spite of Juugo trying to hold onto the branch families, much of the Oogami clan is gone.

Im still indecisive on whether or not I should watch this series. It’s so hard to decide when there are so many other shows I want to try.

I love both Kazuma and Ayano’s speech in this episode ^^ They had a ‘role reversal’ for a moment there :3

Seeing how Misao killed her family members simply due to Kazuma’s provocation makes you think like she really lost her sanity… though thinking that Michael hypnotized her and made her do those things (as it was shown in the novel), clears up much of this mystery :)

And… the author seems to like mass killings, as we’ve already seen a couple of them for the past episodes ^^;;; someone in the suki forum already proposed a likely solution to the diminishing population of the Kannagis, and that is, for Ayano to marry off Kazuma and have kids. LOL XD

That’s interesting about how the novels imply that Misao was not completely to blame for the mass harvesting. In the anime, it seems like Michael may have tricked her, but it was simply what Misao wanted to believe. In this way, it’s good to see that she takes responsibility for her actions, and of course it will be a long road to redemption. I think this is why Kazuma keeps reminding her that she owes her body to him; it gives a target for her to focus on. Otherwise, the debt would probably seem overwhelming.

It looks like all the young males of the Kannagi clan are really weak and/or arrogant. Many of the more promising ones are now dead, so the power in the clan has really been diminished in only 7 episodes! While the main family (Kazuma, Ayano, Ren) is looking pretty good, the branch families have been decimated!

I think Kazuma is hiding a deathnote somewhere

Haha, if so, then K (Kirika) will have to match wits with him and stop him. Kaze no stigma == Shinigami eyes!

It also means the yoma shouldn’t have told Kazuma that his name was Michael Hurley… although I guess Kazuma could have used his eyes to figure it out.

Is it normal to get this vibe that the lead lady in this series alludes to a Grown-up Shana?

Also, I enjoyed the NSFW Screencaps. If you know what I mean.

It’s really interesting Show, i mean the whole series Kaze No Stigma…. I am watching it much and waiting for every next episode really really without much patience :p Kaze no stigma Shinigami eyes lol that could be kinda “same” ? dunno :p

but what i really want to know about these series, is what happened the 4 years that Kazuma was away from the Kannagi family….what happened at that time? where did he go? where did he got trained? where and how did he make the contract with Kaze no Seirei-Ou ^^

we really need to know some things about those 4 years he was away from the Kannagi’s …this would explain many things in the series and add more interest in “what’s Kazuma gonna fight next” etc etc :)

    nice show ^^

This has most likely nothing to do with MKV, the Matroska video container. Recently MKV containers often contain H.264 video. This yields better quality than XviD but needs much more CPU resources. The AVI files typically contain only XviD encoded video, often even at lower resolution so that they need even less CPU power. As a rule of thumb, if your CPU has less than 2 GHz, it might be a bit too slow to playback H.264 in real-time. For H.264 HD resolutions you definitely need a 3 GHz CPU and a good graphics card for real-time playback.
