Powerful Claymores Sophia and Noel are dealing with a hive of Yoma when Quick Sword Irene shows up as well. Sophia and Noel debate about which of them is rank 3 and which is rank 4, but it turns out that they’ve been pushed down to ranks 4 and 5. That’s because Irene herself is now only rank 3, and the new number two is precocious rookie Priscilla.
Like Teresa, Priscilla fights without releasing Yoki. This makes Priscilla a bad matchup for Teresa; Teresa’s major talent is being able to sense Yoki to such a degree that she can read Yoki to predict an opponents moves. Irene maps out a plan to ambush Teresa, but Priscilla refuses to stab Teresa in the back and starts going off on a self-righteous rant. While Priscilla is tough, Teresa’s latent powers are still better than Priscilla’s, and the rookie can’t keep up. With that, the four surround Teresa and release 10% of their Yoki, just enough for the episode to resemble Thriller.
It’s funny how everyone loves lists, and Claymores are no exception. I enjoyed the banter between the agile Noel and brutally strong Sophia. I also enjoyed the explanation of how Teresa’s only visible asset is her smile. When it comes to Priscilla, however, I was not so pleased. I had no idea while reading the manga that she was so damn annoying! Teresa clearly realized the untapped shounen potential and moved to finish Priscilla off before Priscilla’s power level crested over NINE THOUSAND, but alas, Irene’s sword was too fast.
I wanted to point out that another thing from when the ranks 2-5 released their Yoki. So interesting that the sound engineers decided on that effect… Finally, why is Teresa still considered number 1? Shouldn’t Priscilla be number 1 if Teresa has left the Organization? Or is the Organization holding out on us?

Okay, so Priscilla is Raki Skywalkel’s mother? That leaves little to imagination who’s number one.

So is Yoda some kind of dwarf yoma?
excellent episode, episode 8 is even better
Small Spoiler:
Claymores are still called by rank until they’re dead or awakened. (At least during these arcs…)
Well no wonder they want to kill Teresa then! She’s occupying a valuable spot!
