"Sustainable coffee is produced on a farm with high biological diversity and low chemical inputs. It conserves resources, protects the environment, produces efficiently, competes commercially and enhances the quality of life for farmers and society as a whole."

« Coffee review: Wild Birds Unlimited Birder's Blend | Main | Genetically-engineered coffee »

Welcome new readers!

Coffee_04(I've moved this post to the top for a little while.  Check below for new posts.)

As Coffee & Conservation has recently been accepted into the 9rules Network, many new readers will be dropping by.  C&C can be a little daunting: how could there be so much material on sustainable coffee?! Where should you begin?

The menu on the top left is a good place to start. It gives an overview of what this is all about, and background material.  If you are looking for the coffee reviews, basics about coffee, how it's grown and how to make it, the included "Quick Index" link lists those posts. The rest of the left sidebar has lists of great sources of coffee (with a link to an interactive map), and worthwhile resources on birds, biodiversity, and shade coffee. The right sidebar contains the small print (in medium font) and shameless commerce, which helps me fund the coffee purchases that we review for you.  Dig in, and let me know what you think and what you would like to see... I was inducted into 9rules in round 5 too - so congratulations.

I'm impressed with your site so far.

Yours is my fave blog in the food category as well, Scott!
