NBC recently launched their own copy of the now infamous “Special Christmas Box” video. NBC it seems decided to air a “bleeped” version of the video on TV, and simultaneously launched the “bleepless” version out onto the web. Heres a link I must say its one of the funnier videos I have seen:)
This goes to show you the power of the Internet combined with a traditional television broadcast. By understanding the tools that are out there today and combining them with your current strategy you have a winning combination.
Shunning the internet and viral sites like YouTube only shows a lack of understanding about the nature of spreading content in the first place. Clearly they now see a direct correlation between allowing content to be “free” and the halo affect that has on SNL.
