Apple is Changing the Game
Well the good news has finally arrived and all of the rumors can finally lay to rest. Apple has finally shown, and told about their new mobile device due to release sometime over the summer. This makes a very bold statement in a number of ways, but the main message that I get from this, is that it’s time for everyone to step it up a notch.
I can’t imagine the thoughts going through the minds at tech companies that make mobile devices when they saw the information on this phone. The fact that this phone will be a small computer bundled into a design nothing short of amazing is very intimidating to competitors. In his keynote, Steve Jobs mentioned that smartphones/pds’s are too complicated, and that the QWERTY keyboards aren’t changeable, therefore, the Apple phone is all touchscreen.

The phone is supposed to feature a full Safari web browser with full Javascript/CSS support. I am extremely interested in seeing how various websites perform on such a device. Somehow, other companies will have to compete, and I’m not trying make big predictions are anything, but this could help spark greater development into the mobile arena.
The design of the phone is unlike anything else. Just when I thought my Moto Q was one of the sexiest phones out, here comes the iPhone that’s thinner, and way more sleek. All of a sudden my phone isn’t too appealing.
This year just got alot more interesting with this news of Apple’s phone, and I am very anxious to see how other companies respond to the way that they make their phones. Because right now, Apple just changed everything up, and is light years ahead of everyone. I chose a very good time to become a fanboy.

Everyone is talking about this, and I’m not suprised - its gorgeous! Do we know what the retail price is going to be yet? or is that all classified information still?
Steve, so far I’ve heard of price ranges between $500-$600 depending on the size of the hard drive, which comes is 4GB and 8GB flavors.
:O
Guess that’s off the shopping list for now then.
This bumped the PS3 off of my shopping list.
[...] Let’s face the facts. Apple is changing the game and we all just hit the jackpot. Or so you’d think. You see, we ALL haven’t won nor will we all win equally. You see, the iPhone is coming out, in the United States, in June 2007. And for those of us wanting to flee the states, have already fled the states or are currently in limbo based on visa options - we have to wait until Q4 2007 for an European iPhone and until 2008 for an iPhone in Asia. And where does Canada lie in all this? Certainly, Canada is NOT the United States but then again, is Canada European or (dare I say it) Asian? Or is there no ETA for the iPhone in Canada? It would make sense after all, most carriers here in Canada (Telus, Rogers, Fido, Bell, etc) are proprietary and do not respect the customer where they can purchase their phone and switch carriers freely. I just stumbled on your blog from 9rules. Very nice. Did anyone else watch the keynotes presentation Steve Jobs gave announcing the iPhone. All I can say is, if its wrong to want an iPhone then I don’t want to be right (even if it is atleast 500 bucks.)
