Firefox 2 Enters Beta

July 10th, 2006 at 18:06 under News, asides.

A few months ago Firefox 2, also known as Bon Echo, was released as an Alpha stage product and I was very impressed with the improvements performed on the browser. Now Bon Echo has been released as a Beta stage product meaning there are still bugs and this isn’t a final product but it is more complete. If you like being a trailblazer then check it out, here is the FTP link. I am looking forward to when Bon Echo reaches the production state, it should really become useful once the developing community starts creating extensions for it.

Hopefully Flock will implement the new core into its browser soon after Firefox 2.0 stable release. Great blog BTW.

I too hope that Flock will use the new Firefox for its core. I am sure once Bon Echo goes live and is stable then Flock will swap over. Thanks for the compliment.

I’ve tested Flock, And I have to differ.. I liked its GUI but the usage it consumes is very high in contrast to Firefox. If they fix the consumption then I’d really love to see where Flock goes next.
