Lazy Bum.

July 13th, 2006

I haven’t forgotten you. I love you all. I’m right here–see? I’ve just been doing my usual thing: two rows of ribbing on the front of Slouch, and then fifteen little washclothy projects; two more rows of ribbing on the front of Slouch, and then twenty-two more little washclothy projects.

My excuse is that my co-worker Ruth-Ellen is working on the very same sweater that I am, in ecru rather than blue, and in a smaller size. She is still finishing the back, though, and wants to catch up to me so that we can be at more or less the same place throughout the project. I know, I know, it’s a feeble excuse. But it’s an excuse and it’s mine, and I’m sticking to it.

So sometime this weekend you can expect to see a few little washclothy photos. Yeah, yeah, contain your excitement.

In other news: I have every intention of joining the Knitty gang at Drunken Knitting night tomorrow at the Spotted Dick. I will either bring my tragically tedious ribbing, or…something else, I don’t know what yet. So probably the ribbing. But you never know.

Also, the Toronto International Film Festival is coming up in September, and you know what that means: socks! Yes, lots of line-ups, so lots of time to knit a pair of socks. I bought myself some Trekking XXL colour 100 a while back (yes, I know, a cult of some sort has sprung up around this stuff) and that would be ideal for line-up toe-up sock knitting. I just need to get some smaller Addi Turbos (US 2 or even US 1), get a little figure-eight cast-on action happening and get started. I think these will be for me.

I see that huge and gorgeous skein of Mama-E’s sock yarn on the other side of the room waving at me asking when it will be her turn. I think that will have to be for someone’s Christmas present.

Christmas–ugh. Let’s not even think about it. Not in 30-degree weather anyway.

God has been thanked for some funny things over the years, but this one may be the best yet.

I just did a pair of socks in that colorway! if you want really dense fabric, go down to a 0. :) I thought the 1’s were making the fabric too airy. :)

I wish i could go to the flim festival. i bet it’s so exciting in TO that time of year. :)
