Lieberman ahead by 5

DNC, Elections

Ok so it’s been about a week since the “shocking” defeat of Lieberman at the hands of Lamont and the polls aren’t pointing where the DNC would like them to point.

Just 4 days after the Primary in Connecticut Independent Candidate Joe Lieberman is pulling in 46% with Lamont pulling in about 41% with the GOP Candidate Alan Schlesinger with just 6%.

Other findings in the poll are that 57% see Lieberman as politically moderate; 51% see Lamont as liberal.

52% of potential Lamont voters feel that Bush should be impeached and removed from office; 15% of potential Lieberman voters share this view.

55% of voters trust Lieberman when it comes to the War on Terror; 31% trust Lamont.

Lieberman’s numbers for “favorable opinion” / “unfavorable opinion” are 31%/18% while Lamont’s fall in the 19%/23% range.

65% of unaffiliated voters favor Lieberman; 49% favor Lamont.

The race in Connecticut looks like it will shape up to be one of the more interesting to track this year as Lieberman isn’t fading into the dust as the DNC was predicting.

I’d like to see that poll. In any case….the Republican’s pet democrat hasn’t much of a chance unless Republicans themselves vote for him. Considering the dud they have, that might not be so far fetched.

ahhh…I just love the teeth of the awakened liberal country. We are mad. Not only are we going after the rightwingnuts in office, we are going after those who supported them while disgusing themselves as Democrates. The impeachment hearings next winter should really put a burr in your saddle.

…wait till the treason trials start afterward

The militant left in this country, of which you’ve so proudly aligned yourself with, would LOVE to see some sort of war crimes tribunal set up to execute George Bush, but at best, you’ll be lucky to get articles of impeachment filed against him.

As we’ve seen evidenced by previous impeachment hearings for sitting Presidents not much comes of it. Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton are the only Presidents ever to be impeached. Both Clinton and Johnson were aquitted.

Wait until November has come and gone before you begin your flag waving “we’re going to kill the President” parties.

As for the poll information, it can be found over at Rasmussen Reports.

I predict JUST as much fan fare and accomplishment as was during Clinton if they do happen at all.

Best you’ll probably get is impeachment, but NOT removal from office.
