Hillary throws Lieberman under the bus.

We’ve all heard the stories about how Lieberman lost his bid for the Democratic ticket for his re-election in November to a rookie and how he will now be running as an Independent. We’ve also heard that THE reason he supposedly lost this campaign was his support for the war in Iraq.

Up until today, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) backed Joe Lieberman in his bid for re-election, she has now thrown him under the bus in an attempt to distance herself from a loser.

Clinton isn’t stupid, she sees the writing on the wall. The Democratic party that is trying to take back control of Congress is NOT going to support anyone who supports any effort, past or present, in Iraq…. period. They all but slimed the crap out of Lieberman in support of an opponent that was strong against the war and towed the party line like a good little Demmy. Lieberman is known for his “on the fence” democratic politics and that didn’t sit too well with the DNC.

Clinton wants power, and she’s not willing to sacrifice it. She sees that support for the war (which she has had on MANY occasions) is not a sure thing for re-election campaigns on the left so I fully expect her to back-peddle on any and all statements she has made in the past in support of the war. She even has her own Lamont in her bid for re-election and he goes by the name Jonathan Tasini.

Tasini has been riding Lamont’s wave of popularity with some minor success and that is bound to sweat Hillary back into the “Mock Bush” camp, faster than white on rice.

Tasini had this to say at a recent rally:

“I’m where the Democratic primary voters are on the war. Hillary Rodham Clinton is not. What happened in Connecticut is an affirmation of what we’ve known from the very first day of this race - that if we actually have a debate about the issues, we’d do very, very well.”

I’m actually with him to a point. John Kerry proved very well that simply having a PLAN does not walk you into the white house… you have to be specific. When politicians get specific and down to the nitty gritty details of what they will “do for you”, they have a VERY good chance of winning, especially if their opponent has a “plan”.
