Have you ever had one of those days...(A good day)

I've been going through a rough few weeks recently and while I've been trying to keep my spirits up, sometimes it's not so easy. I've started to notice that the things that wouldn't normally cheer me up now can make my day a bit brighter. Today is one of those days.

I had to go to Buffalo with my mom today, and while the drive is boring and my mom and I don't really have anything to talk about, I enjoyed the drive with her all the same. I just happened to walk by a mirror today and caught a glimpse of myself. I had to pause, take a step back and look in the mirror. I look pretty hot today! On top of which, I'm having an amazing hair day.

I'm usually a pessimistic/cynical person, but I've been trying to take joy and find happiness in the simple things that are in my life, instead of passing them over as the same old thing.

Seeing my kids smile (and happy). That does it for my just about every time.

During the day while I'm working, when I see something new implemented on Chawlk (or something that has been there that I didn't realize before). That can cause me to smile for a good thirty minutes.

Payday never fails. It's also a great feeling either 1.) getting new music, or 2.) finding an album I had been searching for for a long time.

I'm surprised how happy getting new shoes makes me feel. The sweet thunk of rubber sole on tarmac and the flighty freedom of a comfortable run ... priceless.

Hearing geese returning. Seeing a bird and if it's a robin, the smile goes ear to ear. Smelling the change of the season to spring. Waking up and knowing that strong coffee is already made and just waiting for me. Looking in the mirror and seeing more than most others see. Every single day, jumping on the scale and once in a while, being very, very proud of myself.
