This might be a little cliche but I would move to San Francisco in a heartbeat. If it were my dream pad, it would have more than 1000 sq ft and an actual garage, all within walking distance to places like union square. Yeah, doesn't really exist. =/

What would I do for a million? Get a bunch of friends in one room and code up a tasty web app that will change the world.

From a thread on YC.news I created: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=57290
"Actually, the buttons are quite consistent.
For ProApps (Logic, Final Cut, Shake, et. al.) the marketing sites are black and silver. The buttons reflect that clearly. Also, the buttons will use the arrow icon.
For iApps (iTunes, iLife, iMac, et. al.) the marketing sites are lighter in color typically now in blue or grey. The buttons, again, reflect that and the use a triangle icon.
That said, each product has its own design team (which is why the buttons vary slightly) but everyone reports to a creative director (Apple Support works differently) which then reports to a marketing director so that Apple style guide is observed and the design is consistent. The iApps sites have to have explicit Jobs approval before publishing.
The International web team dynamic is also interesting. Prior to publishing, they're flown in from all over the world, put into a meeting room on campus for an entire week prior to some big event. During that time all the sites have to be localized, translated, updated, and approved in tandem to the US launch."
That is hilarious. You must digg this or something. =)
Corvette ZR-1. 650hp, lots of carbon fiber and 0-60 in under 3.5 seconds, making it faster than the Ferrari Enzo. It's not the Bugatti Veyron's 2.8s to 60 but I think the Veyron is fugly and can't handle as well as the ZR-1, which is only $100k and therefore actually attainable in a few years, hopefully.
Other than that the 997-gen 911 Porsche Turbo is a great value of speed and handling. 60 in 3.7 w/ manual, 3.4 with tiptronic and the AWD is very tasty.
Aston Martin's are nice but they are pretty slow imo.. 60 in 4.8 sec? kthxbai.
As for realistic cars, the new BMW M3. 400HP V8. All you need is a DINAN supercharger kit and SuperSprint race exhaust system and you'll be faster than the F360 and faster than the BMW M5.
Cars cars cars cars cars. sports and supercars in particular. I love loud ones on tracks too.
I'm sure that these issues are because they are receiving incredible traffic at the moment. Give them a week or so and all should be fine.
Scrivs was actually the first to call me Stammy.. and it stuck.
I'm on my 4th year at Georgia Tech for Computational Media (half computer science, half lit, communication, culture), although I changed my major late so I'm about a semester behind and won't be out until next Fall ends.
probably 8 hours day for me.
Davide, yes the design is organic and from scratch - a seamless evolution from my previous designs. The only thing not from scratch is the logo, which I hired a designer for.
My site has been using K2 as a base for 2 years (r167 from back in the day), but at this point it is so hacked up that the backend files are completely different. Regardless, there is a difference between design and code. Ripping one is still ripping. You stated in your first email that you wanted to learn PHP/MySQL/CSS/HTML so now that you obviously have this knowledge, why not put it into designing your own theme from scratch?

wow, we gotta make a list of these handy functions. So many of these would come in handy. I tried to write my own ucwords() until I found out it existed about 2 weeks ago. :-/
2002 Ford Mustang GT with lotsa mods.
The regular C6 Z06 does 60 in 3.7 seconds so it's already F430 territory (some would argue the vette already IS faster). So the special edition will fortify that lead. But I would never consider it... it was the idea of a Duke graduate, hence the term Blue Devil. No thanks.
*throws up Georgia Tech gang sign.
*zing.
