I saw another video like this just the other day, and it's funny, the first thing I thought about was how I'd feel if I were a parent and I was seeing my child. I'd like to think I'll be enough of an open-minded father not to freak out, but I dunno.

A space issue since you say you've got tons of ideas. You should find another outlet for your creativity for the time being if you're not going to have studio space again in a while. What kind of stuff are you interested in?
Oh, Jennifer -- I'd love to see pics of it when you get back!
M&A is always open, they're a firm. The art space beside their offices rotates out with new installations all the time. I visited a few years ago when this was there:

Image bookmarking, like del.icio.us but for art. Kickass art. And photography, design, etc. My favorite new site in a while.

72 isn't a standard dpi it's a standard ppi. Dots do not equal pixels -- one is a measure of printed dot density and one is a measure of screen density.
To be safe I'd shoot for 600 dpi, as you'll probably end up using a laser printer. Maskau's right about the number 200, but use that for ppi not dpi.
So 12" x 24" @ 200 ppi = 2400 x 4800 pixels. Make sure your image is at least that many pixels big, bottom line. To be extra sure shoot for 300 ppi (3600 x 7200 pixels).

His old "notebook" was one of the first tech blogs I subscribed to, and I've always respected his insights into mobile technology. It sucked to see him go, must have been at least a year-and-a-half ago.
Anyway he's back now, his first real post discusses the iPhone, natch. Check it out.
time machine, definitely
To "blog" something has become short for "to write about" something (specifically on a blog), and likewise, saying "my latest blog" is the equivalent of "my latest blog entry".
My point is the hierarchical swapping (said this already on Pownce). People actually do say "I read yesterday's newspaper" and "I subscribed to the newspaper" which slightly refutes what I'm saying. Only people don't ALSO say "I'm going to newspaper this". I'm no linguist but there's definitely something fishy about using it all three ways as with "blog". Comes a point where the efficacy of a word is diminished beyond what is functional.
A blog is a site or feed, a "post" or "entry" is the content inside. When you say "check my new blog" it means you've started a new site, not written a new article.
AM I RIGHT?!
i think the event did a good job at raising awareness, time will tell.
I went to a showing uptown and it seriously felt like the Church of Al Gore. I didn't stay for long.
There's a lot of negative things you can say about this but still, in the end I think people need to associate positive, enjoyable things like this with environmentalism, and to that end I think it was a success.

Anyone here ever played Freelancer? It's an old game, but I've been playing in an RP server on the relatively new and extremely popular Discovery mod lately and having a great time -- starting a business, forging interstellar alliances, building fighter squadrons and saving up for a battleship. I do trade runs for the faction I started, Ad Infinitum, while I'm doing real freelance web/graphic design work on my other computer -- art imitates life imitates art, etc.
I just started playing, so I'd be interested in anyone else's experiences with it.
Also if anyone happens to feel like playing and wants to join the hottest faction in the game, you know where to find me. New recruits are outfitted with over two million credits worth of cutting edge Eos Squadron recon. fighter hardware. :)
Yeah I took all my keys off a ways back and washed them in dish soap. It worked great and the whole thing was kind of like a game.
I did it this way.
I definitely think that Apple needs to push out an updated line before people forget that they're innovators in the hardware department too.
I dunno I think they've been innovating a lot recently. Not that I wouldn't like to see more sweet stuff but there's nothing they sell that's horribly out of date in my opinion.
I'm not sure how I like this resizable form field. I guess it's nifty but I can see it causing problems potentially.
Looks like that's a Windows-only feature for now, interesting.
