14,293 and counting...
I tried it out for a while too and did not witness any increased traffic.
I was bummed but i thought it was ugly anyway...

Doesn't seem like you need it but I'm a big fan of want as well.
You would definitely love the mac and I bet forget about all other options soon after!
:)
I recommend the following:
Adium
Transmission
Paparazzi (just did a post on it)
Newsfire
Flikr Uploader
Photoshop (if you like editing photos)
Ecto ( for blogging)
Cyberduck (FTP)
Toast Titanium (burning cds)
For work I use MS Office 2008 on my Mac which is awesome so far!
congrats! I find it hard to get that many visits a day...i guess my blog sucks! at least I enjoy it! hahah
mine is simply:
greg | www.toonice4tv.com
email: my email address
aim: toonice4tv
I actually just paid for a new theme...I found it to be a reasonable price and I'm picky enough that I like having something that's custom. I'm by no means a pro blogger, I just do it because I enjoy it and I have been getting into it and taking more seriously. I felt that the cost was fair for what I got out of it.
I like the new look and it definitely looks more professional and clean I think.
Rich, I would love an invite if you're willing to give one up! Thanks!
You guys all rock! Thanks for all the responses I'm going to check some of these out!
im using wordpress working on a mac with leopard. tried to get mamp working but wasn't able to get it working. needed a little bit more clear instructions...anything easier than that?
So I know there are a number of apps out there that allow you to take screenshots and then the standard apple key commands but I was curious as to what software you all used to capture specific windows.
I really don't like the whole drag a box around the window because then i have to take it into photoshop to capture the normal curves of safari's windows.
what do you all use?
sweet! you guys rock. I'll check these out now!
Does anyone have any advice on creating a local environment in order test out new themes of your blog while not affecting the live version?
thanks in advance!
definitely don't expect it. I actually like roro's solution of subscribing for a little while to see if there are things you find interesting. I'm going to try that moving forward!
I use CS3 as well and sometimes Flickr for management but I find Adobe Bridge does the trick for sorting through my image library/files.
Is mint good? I use google analytics right now...
I would like to first continue to improve on my writing and secondly get up to 50 subscribers or so. I've been hovering around 15-24 for the last month or so.
I really try not to focus on traffic but I would like to see more traffic as a result of my writing getting better. Obviously continuing to get my name out there is on the list as well!
I used to like the shoulder bag and I am thinking of a Timbuk2 myself but I currently use a north face backpackand it has a laptop compartment and I love it. I would like some sort of leather case that is more professional looking for client meetings.
i'm a big advocate of doing the erase and install...Obviously back up your machine first.
and what are you waiting for? DO IT!
Email marketing could be effective. I actually just responded to another note regarding lead generation marketing. I work for an agency in which we can help drive traffic to your storefront.
Lead generation marketing is also an effective form of marketing pending what type of offers you may have. This will not only drive traffic to your site but it will be highly targeted and simultaneously developing a database of people that have essentially raised their hands saying "im in interested in your product or service"
An effective way of online marketing is that of lead generation. It creates a purely tangible form of marketing compared to something that just drives brand impression such as a billboard or magazine spread.
I work for an agency that focuses on lead generation marketing and a lot of big companies allocate dollars for this within their ad budget.
For the basics check this link out:

As a new blogger I try not to look at statistics too often just yet because I'm working on my content and getting my ideas/news across. As I do peak now and again at my stats on visitors and subscribers I often wonder how others are doing that are fairly new.
I often read that you need to set goals for yourself but I never seem to find a standard to go by. I mean how many visits should I be expecting a day if I post at least once a day? I do the community thing just like here at 9rules etc. So I figured I would ask all of you!
What types of traffic did you receive early on or even now? What is a reasonable goal for a blogger in their 3rd - 6month?
Wow, I thought I was the only one too. I proofread a number of times and yet I still find myself changing things after I publish. Sometimes grammar but most often sentence flow and transitions.
I use the RSS visualizer that streams the feed from problogger.
As a new blogger I like to get tips and tricks
I know there are many apps out there that help one stay organized and I'm really not sure which one to start using. I heard OmniFocus is real good but I know there is more out there.
Currently I'm just using the notes and to-do's in Mac Mail 3.0. What do you use to stay organized on your mac?
Thanks all for your comments. It is much appreciated!
So, I'm still new to the blogging world and was wondering what your daily routine's are when it comes to the blogs you maintain.
If you're writing two posts a day, how much time is spent researching and promoting etc? Where do you do most of your promoting?
I'm trying to learn ways to build traffic and I have been reading sites like problogger and dailyblogtips as well as performancing but wanted to hear back from the community on your daily routines when it comes to managing your own blogs.
so, how do you spend your days?
Thanks in advance!
i'm currently using the developers edition of the new os and i personally cannot wait for the new one to be released. the new features are great and my version only has a few bugs that hopefully will be resolved once available.
I have about 11,500 right now and growing. I love all types of music so I have an eclectic collection.
for those with collections over 10K, do you even like all the songs in your library? As I go through mine still find songs that have me saying "why was I ever listening to this and who put this on my machine".
just curious!
I've always been a fan of "fat penguin". I've never used it myself but have seen it in action and it works.
How it works:
Walk up to the opposite sex and say "fat penguin" and the normal response will be "what?" which should trigger your immediate response of "I was just trying to break the ice".
Although corny (really corny) I just think its hilarious and even more hilarious that I have seen it work many, many times!
go figure...
I think if I could meet one blogger it would either be Darren Rowse or Paul Stamatiou.
Darren's knowledge about blogging would prove to be extremely beneficial and I"m a big fan of Paul's site as we share some interests and he's doing his thing and only 21...I mean I'm 25 but I wish I started blogging in college.

So I've been using a developers edition of Leopard and for the most part its great! I have experienced a few issues which is understandable due to it not being officially released yet but I was wondering if any of you that are currently running versions of Leopard have issues, specifically with the EFI Firmware Update and the SMC Firmware Update? For some reason, my machine can never make it through the udpate.
Anyone have this problem?
I technically have 3:
1. 30GB ipod Video
2. 20GB 2nd Generation ipod
3. 4GB iPhone
I really only use the ipod video for music though...

I seriously try to publish one post every day...but even that is hard sometimes as I find myself working a lot and I'm on the internet all day for work so I sometimes just need to step away. The last few months have been extremely busy so my blog has suffered a little but I'm trying to get that schedule back.
