I'm growing tired of my PS2 and am looking to move on. It has served me well over the years and has cured many cases of extreme boredom, but, a new dilemma has arisen that has almost driven me insane.

Any opinion will do, what do you recommend; Wii, PS3 or Xbox360?

I wish I could buy all three but you know what they say, money doesn't grow on trees.

I got a Wii a few weeks ago and it's awesome, a whole new kind of gameplay that's just unparalleled as far as inventiveness and interactivity. As far as 360 vs. PS3, that's a much more personal choice as they're up head-to-head against one another, so you'll have to do some soul searching :)

I've trialled both and I agree, they are a good match-up. I'm leaning more towards the Wii though, I'm addicted to the Zelda series and MUST clock Twilight Princess at least a few times before I can sleep well at night.

Look at the available games (and online service) and ask yourself which one offers more of the type you're into, that's the real question if you only plan on getting one system.

I'm yet to buy any of them but the Wii is my hot favourite. It's just total fun. The only downer is you need a large TV to use it well... A projector if you can.

The other two are just adding more of the same (with better graphics) the staple progressive movement in the games industry. I get enough of that sort of gaming on my PC and I get a much better choice of controllers.

I just don't care about graphics that much any more... There was a point (probably with the PS 1) where graphics got just about good enough not to care that much more. I'd much rather have something that was just damned fun to kick back on and had the option of having lots of players interacting with each other. Nintendo really have their innovation thing down to a tee at the moment.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you shouldn't get the Wii. I'm not an Apple-hater (or -fanboy), but I'm just not convinced that it will remain a great strong system, like that of, what I would recommend: XBox 360. The motion sensing is far from perfect, and seems a bit gimmicky to me, and to be honest, I haven't heard of that many awesome games for it (Zelda is pretty cool though), and Nintendo has never done that well in the 3rd party game developing industry, which is where I think a system shines.

I wouldn't get a PS3 because of a few things, mainly it's cost, and the fact that they aren't selling a _ton_, which doesn't bode well for game developers developing a lot of nice games for it.

The 360 has been around a while, but it's proven a strong system, and there are good games for it as well.

My two cents, please don't bash me for disagreeing with the Wii. :P

Like I said (typed), I like the Wii for Zelda and I'm a nintendo fan, but, at $999AUD I doubt I'm going to buy a PS3, also, I just clocked Halo 2 Co-op on my mates 360 and I enjoyed it alot.

So therefore, no bashings are in order :)

I own all 3 - just got a PS3 the other night after both my 360s died. Despite its hardware problems, the Xbox 360 is still my favourite by a long shot. The PS3 has some good games on the horizon, but not for months or even until 2008.

I've pretty much given up on the Wii. The visuals are hideous - so much so that I can't stand to look at it on my HDTV and moved it to an old CRT in the bedroom. My wife and daughter play games like Mario Party 8 and Big Brian Academy, but it doesn't see all that much action. Both my girls put more time into the Xbox 360.

It's all a matter of personal preference and what kind of gaming you want to do. But if you can only get one, I would recommend holding out for an Xbox 360 with the new 65nm chip. They've apparently solved the fatal errors, but it'll probably be a couple, to a few months until we see those on shelves.
