With June coming that means the end of the first half of 2008 and I want to know what you thought the best game released so far was. There are a lot of great contenders if you look at the list:

  • Grand Theft Auto IV
  • Mario Kart
  • Super Smash Bros Melee
  • Age of Conan
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Sins of a Solar Empire
  • Ikaruga (XBLA)
  • Devil May Cry 4
  • No More Heroes
  • God of War: Chains of Olympus
  • N+

Off that list I haven't played them all so I am going to go with Ikaruga. The challenge mixed with the ability to download others replayes makes for great replayability. I'm sure if I had a Wii or picked up GTA IV (giving it some time) I would pick one of those games.

- Mario Kart :D
- Audiosurf
- Assassin's Creed

Of those, I'd have to say Mario Kart has been the most fun. Haven't tried GTA4...looking forward to that. Assassin's Creed was good, but it wasn't as open-ended as I was hoping for. In fact, I didn't finish it ultimately, as I felt it turned predictable at a point--watched my boyfriend finish it, instead. I've not really seen a game with an intense, dramatic storyline (like, say, Bioshock's) yet this year; AC tried, but I think it failed.

Assasin's Creed is one of those games that I keep telling myself I will get around to and eventually so much time has passed I forget about it. Maybe I can pick it up in June and give it a go. I lust for the days when there weren't that many great games and you had enough time to finish one before moving on to the next great. Now if you don't finish a game in 2 days you have no chance of keeping up.
