I just made a post in my blog about the possible things that makes a blogger quit. This includes lack of time, loss of interest and low income. For you, what possible things that would make you quit, and how will you fight it? Thank you.

I quit blogging in the past (for periods of time) basically because I never wanted to write a blog entry just to get something published, I only wanted to write when I had something interesting going on in my life to talk about. I blogged a lot in college because I had classes to discuss and was constantly out and about doing new things, but once I settled down post-college, my personal life got into a routine where fewer "bloggable" things were happening to me, and that wasn't a bad thing. It just made for less interesting blog entries, so I held off on blogging for awhile until I thought I had interesting things to say.

Having more to do in life. The responsibilities that take precedence over blogging. Which make sense though, the net was never part of my job description.

Then again...when I look at it. I don't think I'll ever stop blogging. I'll take extended hiatus though...but never starting something new. Just continuing where I left off.

I will never stop blogging, unless when I am busy or sick.
However, I may consider quitting if I have to pay for it.

Death.

I hereby quote everyone who commented before me.

As soon as it stops being fun, that's when I'll quit. Right now it's helping to keep my stress levels under control, so I don't see an end to it any time soon.

I'll stop blogging when I no longer want to do it. Other stuff in my life taking priority would also lead me to quitting.

I've always pondered the thought of going off the technology grid. No internet, no tv, phone, etc. Sometimes I just yearn for a simpler time. That is about the only thing that would stop me from blogging, but I am sure I might journal the old fashioned way. I just wish my handwriting wasn't so atrocious.

Right now it's hard for me to maintain my blog because my life pretty boring and I rarely have anything worth blogging about. But I'm trying to continue writing on a somewhat regular basis so that I will retain momentum and still be actively maintaining my blog once I get over this speed bump.

It's also frustrating because I don't have the finances to pay for hosting for my domain currently, so I'm stuck on Wordpress, leaving me without a lot of freedom to customize my layout.

@Cappuccino: There is only one catch with the old fashioned way. Commenting can be such a hassle. :)

give me a million dollars, a house, and a beautiful wife

If the afterlife doesn't have an Internet connection, then yeah, death.

@shadow7: Afterlife went proprietary from the beginning. They have their own internet protocols which can't interface with the ones on this side of the life/death curtain.

I've always found that whevenever I have a change in my life that I'm excited about, I feel the need to start a blog to share it with the world. After a while though, I stop feeling the urge to blog, and usually stop. It's a very bad habit, I'm aware. -_-

Also, If I find that I am not getting much feedback, if any at all, I tend to stop. I think the whole point of blogging is to make connections and network with others, so I don't see a reason to continue when that's not happening.

I've taken a bit to think about this. It would take me a lot to stop blogging where and how I am blogging at the moment. Bright Meadow is my personal dumping ground and it has become such a facet of my life that it is hard to think of not writing there.

That being said, there have been times where I have not wanted to blog and subjects I have deliberately not blogged about because they just bite too close to the bone. Those things I still write about, but I keep them locked in a private diary with no plans to publish them straight. The themes might make it into my fiction, but that's another matter.

The day that blogging is no longer enjoyable, then I'll give it in.

External factors that have stopped me blogging, albeit temporarily, in the past were a simple lack of time from my day job, and physical inability to type from RSI. Other than that, even my server going fritz didn't stop me for long!

As long as I feel I'm learning/earning/giving something from the experience in a good ratio to the time I spend, I'll continue.

@shadow7: Afterlife went proprietary from the beginning. They have their own internet protocols which can't interface with the ones on this side of the life/death curtain.

Spirit Control Protocol / Interfaith Protocol (SCP/IP) and Soul Over IP (SOIP) have been in use since 800 BC.

What can I say?I just found great and honest reponses and so far, I am glad nobody here is quitting because of low income. That means you are blogging not because of money alone.
Well, to answer my own question, I think I will only quit blogging if nothing or nobody drives me anymore. You cannot do great things if you are only forced to it, right?
