Round 5 update
Written by Tyme White on December 5, 2006
Thank you very much for being patient with us while we sorted through the list. With so many submissions we had to find a way to go through them all. We tried several different approaches and we agreed on one that we think will work the best.
So without further ado, starting tomorrow you will see regular updates for acceptances in 9rules. We normally do one big list and it’s over and done. Instead, we will be making regular announcements over the next two weeks listing the sites that have been accepted. We aren’t trying to drag this out but we had to find a way to thoroughly go through the sites. People forget that after the acceptances, I have to email them, they have to accept the membership agreement, get set up in the forums, put the lead on their site, they have to be added to communities, and Scrivs has lots of fun taking screenshots of all the sites. There is work beyond the list itself and that had to be thought of as well.
Once we are completely done with the list, a final list will be posted. I will be sending out acceptance emails with 24 hours of the link being announced here (most likely the same day). When the final list is posted that will be the time for those that didn’t receive the email to let me know. How long will this take? The announcements will be made over the next two weeks.
Thank you again for your patience. We really appreciate it.

Thank you for the update!
…But I’m still curious: how many sites were accepted? Or is that still to be determined?
December 5th, 2006 at 6:06 pm
You’re welcome.
We do not have a final number. We try not to get into that because we want to focus on the sites, not how many.

Let the fun begin. Thanks for the update

Wahoo!
I don’t think my heart can take anymore ups and downs. You guys should write a book or a movie script or something!

Holy Moly! I feel like it’s the submission day all over again.
Congratulations to everyone who makes it in…I know I’ll be checking my inbox a little bit more often.

I hope I get in. I haven’t had anything to blog about for the past few weeks because my Mac is in for repair.
December 5th, 2006 at 6:58 pm
Great.

Let the slow trickle commence. I have to admit I’ve been pinging my 9rules RSS feed quite a bit. Good luck to all.

Definitely looking forward to seeing how things turn out for Round 5. Good luck to all, and especially good luck to the 9Rules crew and all the work that they have to accomplish.

Hope you’re taking a vacation afterwards. How stressful is it? How was the competition? Was it easy to come to a decision?

9rules still sorting through its fifth round of sites…
By the time this hits your feedreaders you should start seeing some 9rules updates on their site. It will be interesting to see how they grow and if they launch the top secret “9rules live” shortly after the update.
Thank you very much for…

I have butterflies in my stomach! Thanks for the update. Can’t wait to see the admissions.
December 5th, 2006 at 8:13 pm
Right on.
Regardless of whether or not my blog gets in, having the announcement trickle in will make it easier for me (and others) to check out all of the new blogs that made the cut.
December 5th, 2006 at 8:29 pm
Thanks.
December 5th, 2006 at 8:44 pm
Good luck to everyone! The ones who make the first annoucement list will have some relief, while the rest will bite our nails in anticipation for inclusion in the followups. Man, this should be a reality TV show.

Thanks for the update, Tyme. 1100-plus blogs must have been a huge mountain to climb. At this stage, the three of you are probably dreading Round 6
.

There is one person that the suspense isn’t hurting. I already know that I didn’t get in, and know why. But maybe the suspense is killing me. I just can’t wait to subscribe to some rss feeds. By the way, have you ever considered a career in Hollywood or marketing?

I’m so happy for us (the non 9rulers) because we will get to know who gets to be a part of this amazing community but mostly for you guys (the 9rulescrew), you can finally get some rest now and stop feeling like your going to stab every other computer screen with the spoon sitting quietly in your bowl of cereals each morning.
December 5th, 2006 at 10:38 pm
Arthus, I’m curious to know why you figure you didn’t get in? Have some faith! You’re gotten this far, don’t give up on yourself now.
December 5th, 2006 at 10:39 pm
I’m gonna love discovering these new blogs and I hope some of the people I already like and read have made it. Take care guys. It’s gonna be hard couple of days yet, but think of all the love and hugs you’ll be getting just before Christmas. Warm fuzzy feelings ahead.

Im actually pretty excited. Either way, the steps we took to get ready to submit have improved some neglected elements of our site and we have been humming along nicely these last two months. Good luck all.
Cheers,

some of you guys dont get out much do you???
December 5th, 2006 at 11:49 pm
marco: That’s a pretty unfair statement to make. Enthusiasm for something like this doesn’t imply a lack of a social life. You may have been joking and I misunderstood, the Internet is prone to that sort of thing, but I just figured I would speak up.

Tyme,
Thanks for the update. As one of the individuals that submitted during this last round, I understand all of the hard work that you and the rest of the guys are putting in. Like I told Scrivs in an email a few weeks back, I really you all being as through as you have been. Unfortunately, I have been having some technical issues with the two sites that I submitted and that may affect my chances of getting in during this round, but at least I can say that I did take the leap and submit and even if I don’t get in, I learned somethings that will make my next submi8ssion that much stronger.
Again, keep up the good work and have a happy holiday!!!!

Thanks Tyme for taking a moment out of your busy round 5 submission checking to let us know what’s going on.
I think this idea is good and look forward to seeing who’s on the list.

Hey Tyme I think you misspelled the word leaf. I’m sure our members don’t want lead on their site come to think of it how would you do that? Sorry I really hate it when people point out my spelling mistakes…
But on a lighter note look at that new anime site. This is very exciting stuff.

[...] The 9rules round 5 results are trickling out as they daily announce the selected blogs in small groups. This is in contrast to previous rounds of selections, when they posted the entire list of selected blogs. 9rules Round 5 Submissions had opened for 24 Hours on October 25 and 1190 blogs submissions were received. “we will be making regular announcements over the next two weeks listing the sites that have been accepted.
