Tyme & Jeremy Wright Chat

Written by Tyme White on June 14, 2006

Yesterday was quite a day for 9rules and b5media. At the end of the day, Jeremy and I sat down and do what we do - talk. We cleared the air, made some points, and learned some things. Now it’s time for you to learn some things.

Why does b5 launch so many sites?

What’s up with the stats Jeremy states time to time? Jeremy details how they are calculated.

Did you know Jeremy (at one time) was writing 25,000 words a day?

Our networks have challenges. Jeremy and I talk about some of those.

Which 9rules team member helped Jeremy out - on the highway?

Sorry but I just couldn’t listen to this. It got very boring very quickly. It’s great that your willing to put this out there though.

Tyme has some sort of weird resemblance to Opera when the podcast first starts out.

  8. karmatosed Says:

Great insight in that podcast. Be great to hear more as cleared things up and was nice to see.

  9. Tyme White Says:

It’s unedited, with the exception of a five minute portion where Jeremy and I discuss an idea that our partners didn’t know about. I don’t like it when the guys do it to me, so I didn’t do it to them.

I left it unedited because it’s not a filtered view of what Jeremy and I want people to think. It’s how the conversation actually went. Nothing was planned in advance, we didn’t discuss what we were going to talk about and the conversation started off recording.

From the feedback I’ve gotten, most people learned “something” from it but I admit my primary focus was having it factual and not filtered (so people can make their own conclusions) than entertaining (since the “topic” wasn’t funny to me).

  10. Jeremy Wright Says:

Hey, really this was about the networks talking. I’m happy that folk found it interesting or entertaining, but the real point was to get both networks back on the same page (ish).

That’ll be a challenge going forward, since our networks, models and focusses are so different. But, I still think these things are incredibly valuable. Maybe not to the public, but to the networks.

And, since the conflict was public (this time, hopefully we can not do that in the future), we felt the resolution should be as well :)

    Separate Feed Stats with AWStats

A bit more than a month ago I was listening to a podcast between Jeremy Wright and Tyme talking about blog networks. During the conversation the topic of feed statistics came up. Jeremy astutely mentioned how most website statistics programs count a &#…

  16. Mattbob -- Blog Archive » Arguments Says:

[...] From what I’ve noticed, blog network owners are thinkers and they aren’t afraid to voice their opinions. They use their blogs to voice their opinions but if they dare mention another blog network then wars begin. Eventually peace talks are made and each network has a better understanding of each other but they still don’t agree. So why do arguements get to be so personal? It does no good. Give advice and get people thinking but don’t criticize people and tell them that they’re wrong. This immediately puts everyone in combat mode and in the end does no good. [...]
