To Everyone That Submitted
Written by Scrivs on April 14, 2005
We would like to thank everyone again who submitted their sites for admission into the 9rules network. We have been going over the submissions carefully and have been narrowing them down to the best of the best. Overall we had 127 sites submitted in the 24 hour time window, which far exceeded our expectations.
Everyone who submitted a site should be receiving an email some time next week.
Thanks again.

Me too I am eagerly awaiting the email entitled…
You will have to let me know how this WordPress thing works out for you. You’ve probably been using MT, just as long as, if not longer than I have. Like to see a write up on the network somewhere of how you take to the change after 2 weeks of frequent use of it. That’s my fear, I liked playing with it…but I was afraid of change.

Funny you should mention a writeup because I talked to Colin about that earlier today and he says he has something in the works for down the road.
I will be using it to test on my personal site (not yet launched) so I should be able to give my thoughts on working with WP within the next couple of weeks.

My WP write-up will deal mostly with using Wordpress for purposes other than just the average blog. As you can probably tell, this blog is powered by WP without too many plugins or hacks.
However, the 9rules network will be powered by the core of WP, with a few hacks and some pretty powerful extensions. We’re also using Magpie for some of our more advanced RSS aggregation. So, if your interested in Magpie use - than maybe at least 1 person will find my entry interesting.

Hey Colin, are you using the MagpieRSS we have bundled with 1.5?
Cause I wrote wrote that you know, love me!
Errr, I know that currently it is only set up to be used in the dashboard, but you can easily include the template-functions file for RSS in any file or template and begin using it there as well.
Looking forward to see what you guys are coming up with.

I’m not giving out all my secrets just yet. Suffice to say, I’m using everything I can get my hands on.

Any reason you’re not using WordPress MU (multi-user) for this? Just curious… I know nothing.
April 20th, 2005 at 1:35 am
From what I understand WP MU doesn’t follow along the same development cycle as WP. Also there was no need to have multiple blogs for this blog, but for other projects we will be definitely be looking into it.

Hey Paul,
Nice site you have here. I am digging the colors. Its the MOST color I have ever seen come out of you :), btw - did you design this, or is this a design that you were looking for a designer for?
Anyways, I am curious as to how WP will work for you in comparison to MT.
The one thing I hate about MT is the rebuilding. It blows.
My buddy and I are thinking of trying to create a port so WP can be used with Coldfusion instead of PHP, because there aren’t too many good Coldfusion blogging applications around.
I guess that is why MT is nice, because I can keep my .cfm extensions.

Moving to WP because the dev guy knows it best.
As for the design this is Rundle’s creation. I just guided the ship.

Scrivs,
I can just picture you in a sailor’s outfit guiding the ship, with Rundle hoisting the sails and Matthew swabbing the deck. Watch out for pirates, mate.
