Does your car reflect who you are?

I use to own this pimped out 95 Honda Civic and while I enjoyed the attention it drew, in essence, it didn't reflect who I am as a person. Eventually I sold it and purchased a brand new car. It's sleek, low radar, quite yet never under spoken. That's more like me I guess.

When my car is clean, it reflects exactly who I am. 'Cos I can see my reflection in it. Also, I enjoy a reasonably powerful, but understated, economical and spacious car. I think that sums me up, maybe.

My car doesn't sum me up but there we go who'd want to be summed up by a vauxhall vectra? At best it says due to the dog guard we have dogs and mud on the under side we live in the country.

I don't have a car. Does that mean I'm a hippie?

I don't think so Alisa, but I'm surprised that I've not seen anyone post their hybrid yet.

I'd not own a car if I could avoid it.
Or if Richmond has proper public transport. (like subways, or dependable buses).
I've got a 2001 Ford Taurus SES (not my actual car, this one's cleaner)

No, my car does not reflect who I am. It only reflects what I can afford *giggles*

I don't think so, or else I would be one beat up man with a major lung problem. :)
Anyway, this post from this auto parts blog shows how cars can make us think of people. I wonder then what kind of car Angelina Jolie will be. Can't wait to ride that one. :P

I have a sweet ass Nissan Altima, dubbed the Sea Foam Fury. I've been thinking about pimping it out with a new air freshener. Once I have that in place I think I'll be ready to break into the underground racing world.

I have a 6-banger, albeit only a 12 valve one. :(
I have a MKIV Jetta that I named Judy as in Judy Jetta-son. My car used to define who I was ... I was in a VW-Audi car club once upon a time! But car customization and enthusiasm was really impinging on my mobility (and wallet) in this city. I swapped out my suspension for my stock one awhile back because the roads were too rough on her. She's still got a chip, full cat-back, and cold air intake which was prototyped on her. Hah.
When I bone out, I can still make her chirp to 2nd, also into 3rd. Unfortunately, her cooling system needs to get looked at, for about the third time. Sigh.

I don't drive a car, I ride a vintage motorcyle. What does that say about me?
I think it absolutely reflects who I am. And the beauty thing about a bike is it'll take almost any car off the line :D.

I think the car reflects who you want to be.
Sometimes you see an old man in a cool Smart car because he wants to look young, while you can also see a super slim guy in a huge pick up.
I drive BMW since forever, it's just a family thing, so ... (LOL) I want to be a part of my family :p

I don't have a car, and for what it's worth, that defines who I am at this moment in time. I hate driving with every fiber of my being, prefering to take buses everywhere.
Someday I'll own a car again, though, and it will be very utilitarian, serving its purpose of getting me safely from point A to point B. Also, if I ever have the $ to afford a hybrid (or, by that time that happens, they may even have full-electrics that are actually worth their stuff ;-) ) that wouldn't murder a little piece of the environment every time I started the engine, I guess that would embody a part of my personality, too.

I think too many people choose to buy new cars instead of maintaining what they currently have. There are certainly some benefits of a newer car such as better fuel economy and safety features but I'm not at all certain that you could call a new car purchase, even a hybrid, a good environmental choice.
Every new car on the road replaces one older car that ends up in a junk yard leaking fluids into the water table as parts are picked off it's carcass. After the car has no value to the junk yard they will strip and burn the interior releasing more toxins before the car is crushed and sold for scrap. Don't feel bad about this because it will happen to your new car one day too.
This dead piece of metal may have ended up as scrap because the owner didn't want to fork our $600 to have a transmission rebuilt but instead chose to trade their inexpensive problem for a $300 a month car payment that just perpetuates the cycle. The banks like it as do the insurance companies.
I'm not preaching. We have one newer SUV that my wife drives and my car is older than I am. A properly cared for car can last decades and longer. It simply pays to maintain your investment and I could even argue that it may even be a good environmental choice.

Buying a new car doesn't make financial sense, either, considering how much it depreciates the moment you drive it off the lot. If I ever get that hybrid, it will definitely be a used one!

Does my car reflect me? I doubt it. My requirements for a car are not based on looks at all, but whether I can reach the pedals. I lease a 2005 VW Jetta. Next one is a VW Bug!

Dreamweaver.... I am sooo jealous. I drive a 97 champaign colored Grand Am, it does not reflect me at all. I need a pick up or a muscle car, I'm a big guy, big guys need big cars... or a Harley. I could go with Ben's Bike too.

Yes, it does. Daunting in size, but capable of holding my own. Unexpectedly roomy too. Wait that one doesn't make sense for me. I bet I could get a paint job to make it look like a penguin though.

Hmmmm.... On one hand, no, my grocery getter doesn't reflect who I am. I'm more of a muscle car guy. However, slap a turbo and some suspension mods on my Carolla and I'd be happy enough. :-D

I drive a 1998 Lexus ES300 with 210,000 miles on it, but it looks great on hte inside and the outside. It was my first car, and I haven't had a single accident in the 4 years I've been driving it. Although, we did replace the transmission about a year ago.

I really don't know since the car I usually drive is indeed my father's car. It's a FIAT Punto from the ancient times (1996 :) and I simply love it. It's big enough to carry my entire drum set and still leave room for a passenger, this is the most important thing about this car.
Does it reflect what I am? Probably, since I'm that little bit of lazy and like comfortable travels in which I keep control of the situation wherever I go. And still it's a great car for going to the mountains without scaring too much the animals :)
Adventurous enough, yep.

My Mum always says that the cleanliness of one's car reflects one's cleanliness, and I can't agree more with her. My car is always full of stuff (read: messy), and books, and so is my room, and my life!

i dont think my car reflects who i am, well maybe a little
it is a 2005 vw gti 1.8t 5 speed, it is small, fast and not me... i thought it was when i got it but i was misinformed, my nexxt car will be a sleek sedan or coupe... not a hatchback, nothing to fast or sporty but sleek with some style im liking the accord coupes and the scion tc's... but who knows

My car reflects the practical side of me. It gets decent gas mileage, is low on the upkeep, and was in my price range.
The car I desire is a different story, so from that perspective, my car doesn't reflect who I am.

I guess in a way.. A lot of people says that I'm kinda OC (obsessive compulsive). Well, I want my things clean and orderly as possible. Just like in my car. I want things neat and clean. That's why I always clean my car Nissan floor mat and other things. I don't like it to be messy.

My car is small, cute, bright red, and very zippy (read: does an excellent job of weaving in and out of traffic when I'm almost late for class).
Does it reflect my personality? Definitely. It's vibrant, fun, and efficient, just like I am (most of the time). The next car I get will be faster though, to satisfy the power-hungry side of my personality.

Ofcourse not!! People with the fastest, coolest, best updated cars can be foolish! Not all of them, but if you don't afford a car, or if your car is a piece of old crap...This doesn't reflect anything on your personality. A personality is approved by speaking up, self confidence, social life, and other life communications. But how much money you have or what car you own DOES NOT reflect on who you are.You do! Your message in this world is to do your job and prove yourself as a good example and a meaningful human being! And thats who you are... not your car.
This is a little saying that I find really sufficient to be heard by the new generation : " Your life's way is not made counting your money, it's made by reading your mind, listening to your heart, and believing in yourself. "

the car doesn't make the man, man makes the car....
I still get the same attention in my 540 than i did in my nissan sentra.... ahh the good ol days when I could by regular gas and didn't have to fill up every other day. performance comes at a price.
