BMW's GINA concept car today got us to thinking about concept cars in general. They exist at the inflection point where our dreams and technology meet. Whether we yearn for nuclear power, extreme performance or phallic shapes, we have the concept car to thank for pointing us toward the uncertain future. And while not all concept cars see the light of day, the automotive wishes of yesterday often influence the driving realities of today. With the help of some of our readers, we've put together a top ten list of what we believe are the most insane concept cars ever created. We'll leave it to you to pick the craziest in the poll below.
I'm not a car enthusiast but I wanted GINA (and I don't care for BMWs). Bad. I was hurt when I saw it was only a concept car not meant to ever be released. Of course my wallet probably wouldn't agree with my desire to purchase the car but damn, the only cars these days that make me "oh" and "ah" are concept cars. :( I don't see how car enthusiasts stand it.
#6 doesn't even look like a car. It looks like a space ship. Odd, GINA is the only one I visualize myself driving. It's so sexy.

Wow, that Peugeot kicks ass for no reason other than it's a three wheeler designed around subtracting a wheel from a car rather than adding a wheel to a motorcycle. I love that kind of thinking.
The Gina's cool too, but at this point it's a design concept which lives in a 3d modeling program. By my definition, that's not a concept car -- but it is cool (if not a bit scary) none the less.

I don't know about the Gina, ever since I broke up with my girlfriend in middle school named Gina I've had a strong distaste for all things Gina. I can't see myself riding in a Gina because it would malfunction and throw me off a cliff. Ginas are bad.
