This photo is also in my Flickr stream, and I want to have a little fun with it. Guess what car this is. First hint, it's not released.

fast sports car

Some kind of porsche.

Hey, I just saw your post on 9rules to Chawlk, Say Goodbye to 9rules. I clicked through all those horrible videos; is the entire article a joke, or is it just a teaser? I'm very new to the community.

Anyhow, not a Porche. I will wait through several more guesses before giving another hint. It's not mine by the way; but I hope to own one someday... someday.

Nah, it's a Tesla Roadster, or DarkStar as I think its concept name was.
Tesla Wiki.

Haha that splash page is a joke, but there are links in the Note that send you to the real Chawlk.

Scrivs, OK I will have to read more closely. Based on the design of this community, I'm sure the transition will go well.

Ollie, you got it! I was taken for a ride, and it is fast! I'm very fortunate to be given the opportunity; my sister's Boyfriend works for Tesla. It's funny; I actually introduced him to the car through an article in Wired magazine over a year ago. Shortly after he switched from BMW to Tesla. I immediately fell in love with car. In fact, it's the first sports car I really took a liking to. There is something about efficiency that intrigues me.

The thing that 'concerns' me about electric sports cars is that they won't make a beautiful noise. Could you imagine a Ferrari 430 or Aston Martin V8 Vantage without the beautiful engine note? Still, it is the future so I guess I should get used to it. And well done to Tesla, it is an interesting project and from what people have said they haven't done a bad job. It'll be interesting to see if it sells well.

It certainly is different. The response time is insane; as soon as you hit the pedal, it pulls. I understand the part about the noise. It reminds me of when CDs first came onto the market. At first they actually were very poor quality with bad compression; most importantly, they didn't have that warmth and depth of a tape or record. It would be funny if they added optional speakers to the car to simulate the "warmth." Actually, that would be horrific.
