For all you Apple users, which email client application do you use and/or prefer? Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird or something else?

Apple Mail is fast, has a good learning spam filter, and handles everything I need.

mail.app. Best choice in my opinion, if you need something with more bloat try Entourage (Mac's MS Office version of outlook)

Mail.app is all I've ever needed.
Edit: This looks interesting though, for Camino users.

Mail.app for me too. There's actually a lot of great plugins for it too, checkout Hawkwings.net for some great tips.

Mail.app seems to be doing the job just fine since I got my Macbook. No need to try anything else.

Thunderbird here.
I had problems with mail in the beginning of OS X. I could switch back, but I'm in my groove now.

Thunderbird for me. That way I can use the same email client on both Mac and PC and keep it synchronized with IMAP.

Apple Mail seems to have gotten more votes, so I'll keep using it.

Gmail seems to be the best option these days, particularly as you can access it from anywhere and aren't tied down to your computer.
I even get mine on my phone, which is a great way to catch up on some quick emails when you're in line at the doctors office or riding a bus to a meeting and need to check some quick notes or whatever.

I'm very much a fan of Gmail as well, particularly because of the mobile access.
To be on the safe side I have my laptop running Mail.app download copies of everything. (You know, in the event one of DC's storing my data sinks into the earth, or...)

Gmail is a nice webmail and all, but I haven't ever seen the point really in using a service that I don't control. Call me old fashioned.
Personally all my accounts are set up as IMAP, and all have access to webmail if I'm not at one of my computers.

I used to use mail.app, then about a year ago it upped and died on me - entire mail database corrupted. Yes, it's as painful as it sounds.
I switched to Thunderbird as a trial and I've not switched back, mainly because the thought of setting Mail back up for my ten different accounts just sends chills down my spine. I have to say though, Thunderbird is a little slow on my aged PowerBook. It does what I need it to, but I'm getting the feeling I should just take the plunge and go back to Mail. Sigh.

I know it's been mentioned several times, but gmail + notifier are the only way to go in my opinion. Who needs an app anymore? Apps are so over rated anyway.

Mail.app for many reasons but the primary one being integration with the rest of the OS. I tried GMail, routing my 2 email accounts through it but I just couldn't get on with it.

You know that GMail has POP access, right? You can setup an account in Mail.app for it.

I've always used Outlook at work, but now that I switched to a MacBook I'll need to reconsider. Thunderbird's been getting some praise in the office, so maybe I'll try that. I just don't... like Mail, it's probably just due to my experience with Outlook, though. Of course there'd be Entourage, but we'll see what works.
There's the whole calendar issue to consider, too. I like iCal especially since I can subscribe to my Basecamp milestones, but it doesn't play with the Exchange we have set up at work. Then again, I rarely really need that stuff.
Gmail for all personal email, separate apps are work-only.

Mail.app all the way. Never had an e-mail client more capable of handling the job.
